Astron Hotel is located in the heart of the city on the graphic harbour of Kos-offering a friendly and warm atmosphere. It is situated just opposite the Medieval Castle and provides its guests an excellent and spectacular view of the surroundings. The sandy beach is only 300 meters away-the restaurants-Greek taverns and bars are only a few meters away from the hotel. The hotel*s guestrooms comprises of all the amenities in order to make its guests feel comfortable. In our hotel you can find Pegasus Bar and Andromeda restaurant with Greek and International cuisine-both holding excellent views of the harbour. Additionally you can find Snack Bar Orion which is located by the swimming pool /free sun lounges offered/-a children*s swimming pool and a Jacuzzi pool-all surrounded by exotic plants and flowers. Furthermore-a TV room-an Internet room-exchange desk-car rental-24-hours reception-private car park and room service are also available.

Discomfort

We decided to spend our last night in Kos in town before flying home. We found this hotel not only on the website but recommended by Frommer's. This was not a comfortable room at all. It was not very clean. We went to the pool to relax before walking the town and they told us you need to bring your own towel and you cannot use the ones in the room for bathing. The breakfast was nothing special. The entire facility was old and dingy. It was a convenient location to walk to all the restaurants, shops and bars. The price seemed right, but when you compare it to other hotels nearby, it was actually slightly more. This may have been due to the pool, but if so, what a waste. We definitely would not stay here again.

Great location,

The view of the Kos harbor that greets one as they exit the front door of the hotel is magnificant. The location of the hotel was convenient. Breakfast was excellent. Our room looked out onto the pool area in the back of the hotel. I do not know what it would have cost to upgrade to a room with a harbor view. reception staff was excellent in answering our questions and making suggestions for dinner.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Exit the hotel, turn right, go up to the Dolphin circle, and take the street that goes to the right of the market. There is a restaurant up there a short distance with the word "mummie" in its name. The food is excellent.
