This was a project that began years ago with the aim of recreating a Cretan village where visitors would enjoy experiences ranging from Cretan dance classes to a traditional Cretan wedding. There is a folklore museum and arts and crafts workshops operating upon request such as ironmongers, loom, wood oven, and traditional Cretan dances. The hotel offers a unique alternative experience welcoming guests who are looking for an off the beaten track holiday (06/08 EP) The whole complex has been built to resemble a traditional Cretan village, complete with a main square, houses and workshops. The new swimming pool area Delphys is a refreshing addition available for a relaxing swim or suntanning on the deckchairs. The Arolithos Village is situated about 10 kilometres from the city of Heraklion. The Minoan palace of Knossos is just a short drive away. To reach Arolithos by car, take the highway exit to "GAZI" and "ANOGIA" and keep on driving towards Anogia. The road zigzags the heights above Heraklion and will take you through rolling countryside and villages all the way to Arolithos.

The rooms are of a traditional style with white washed walls and dark wood. All rooms come with balcony, direct dial telephone and air conditioning. Some of the rooms have a fireplace. The furnishing is in a quite basic rustic style.

Solo traveler

This hotel gives you a true traditional Greek lifestyle which is what I want to see. This hotel is beautifully done with flowers, pool, and resturant. I ate my breakfast outside on the patio with vine covered roof. It has a beautiful countryside view.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

This hotel has a museum about how they live and little cute store, and a painter. Beautiful artwork. It has alot of steps to the rooms which I would not recomend this hotel for people who uses wheelchairs.
