pretty nice place

Overall good experience. the door to my room would not lock and we informed the staff who were nice but it did not get fixed even after mentioning it multiple times. The room it self was very spacious and nice but the shower was a little musty, probably due to poor ventilation. The restaurant on the roof had good food although a little pricey.

Fun, modern hotel in a great area

This hotel was right in the middle of the action. My wife and I were able to walk everywhere. We liked the feel of the hotel as well. The restaurant up top gave great views of the city and the rooms were nice and updated.

Athens Trip

I liked the location of the hotel. The staff greeted us and gave us a Greek Christmas dessert and water. We went to our room and a staff member helped us with our luggage and told us how everything works. Hotel was very modern. Room was small but clean. Internet was not that good and I read that you had to pay to get high speed internet. Breakfast was okay. Prefered pancakes and french toast which you had to pay for but omlettes and eggs were free just not shown at the buffet. Overall it was a great experience.

Good but pricey

I had a miles discount, so I booked the New Hotel, based on reviews and location. Breakfast is included here, the best we've had in any hotel. The staff was very good, though we recieved a misdirected wake up call and one day were left with no soap or glasses. The roof top lounge has a partial view of the Parthenon ($16 martinis). This hotel was designed by art students so expect the decor to be out of the norm, also 21 light switches, some of which we never found out what they controlled. If you arrive, try to get an orientation.

I'm tickled PINK!

I was absolutely thrilled with this hotel! From the moment you walk in the lobby to every corner of the room, It's a visual delight. Service is superb! We asked for a couple of items and each time, within a few short minutes, they were at out door. I've never experienced such prompt service like that. The beds provided the most comfort we experienced in Greece (out of 3 other cities). The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast in the restaurant was excellent. We didn't have a single complaint. This hotel knows what they are doing and knows how to please their customers.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Close to Syntagma square which is a trans, hub. Short walk to the tourist district of Plaka. You can get the hop on-off bus in Syntagma, but in truth there is only a couple of places you cannot walk, and those you can get to with the metro.

A lot to like in a great location

This hotel is situated a few minutes walk from the Plaka and also just a short walk from a central metro station that connects you direct to the airport. So it doesn't get much better for travellers who want to explore and enjoy the culture. Check-in at the hotel is a delight. We were offered a glass of water and chocolate truffles before being sat down to chat to the reception staff. That's a classy touch. The rooms are heavy on design and make good use of space. Most will love its modern look I think. There are mirrors everywhere and an angular theme makes it obvious that everything in this room was meticulously designed, with mostly great success. My favourite thing was probably the multifunction toilet/shower door - ingenious in my opinion but you'll have to check in to see exactly what I mean. Our room was quiet despite the busy location and the electric blinds ensured light was totally shut out. Because of this we slept really well and even slept a little later than planned as we thought it was still night. Love those blinds (I might even get them installed at home, lol). The only negative I can think of is that the gold sinks looked fabulous when we first entered the room but they really show up the soap marks after you use them first time. A tiny niggle that I'm sure most people won't even notice. As for the price, you'll have to decide whether the extra cost is worth it. If you plan to be out exploring Athens all day and night, then you may be better off economising in one of the many cheaper hotels in the area. But if you want to treat yourself or plan to spend time at the hotel then this is an excellent choice.
