Nice hotel near Acropolis
I took my family to this hotel for a weekend in Athens. The food at the restaurant was surprisingly good and the staff were helpful. The lobby is very tastefully decorated. The location is within walking distance of most of the sights in Athens. The staff even arranged a babysitter for our son. Negatives would be the wifi required one to continually re-login which was annoying and the shower was not sealed well so water got all over the bathroom. The included breakfast was good but nothing to write home about.

Great View
My husband and I went to Greece for our honeymoon. The Herodion was the perfect beginning to a wonderful trip. The reception desk offered great suggestions for food and tours. The breakfast buffet was nice. The view from our window was wonderful as well the view from the terrace. Only Negative- We went it March so the weather was chilly and we wanted to take advantage of the roof terrace but it was 5 Euros to heat the hot tub for 15 minutes.

The hotel was in a wonderful location
The hotel was in a wonderful location with lovely reception rooms and bar, plentiful breakfast choices,very efficient and friendly staff and reasonable prices, and of course the hot tubs on the roof with a fantastic view of the Acropolis.I will be recommending this hotel to friends visiting Athens.

Beautiful with a view of the Acropolis
Herodion is a wonderful hotel, very comfortable, beautiful and affordable, in a great location. Our room had a view of the Parthenon which was very nice. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The inclusive breakfast is very good.

There's not a whole lot to do late at night, so try to adjust to the time change. Also, the hotel is located near a school, so if the noise of children bothers you, you might want another place, but it didn't really bother us.

High quality,great value,ideal location
After some initial teething problems which the staff resolved satisfactorily, we had a fantastic stay. The reception staff were very professional, friendly and provided invaluable help and advice on sightseeing and transport options. For example,alerting us to the fact that the ferries were on strike and suggesting a memorable coach trip to the Poseidon Temple as an alternative to the Greek Islands. The hotel was clean and the rooms were furnished to a good standard. The bed was comfortable and the room temperature just right. As always a bath/shower is the preferred option after a day's sightseeing. A special feature was the garden roof terraces with amazing views of the Acropolis with the added bonus of 2 hot tubs and seating area. The weather at the end of November was fantastic and going for evening walks or relaxing in the sun helped make the holiday a truly memorable experience. The location in the Plaka district was perfect for sightseeing with all the main attractions within walking distance or a short metro(Akropoli) or bus ride away. In short a great destination for a low season break in an excellent value, high quality hotel with hospitable and helpful staff. Will definitely be back again.

Excellent transport system with bus,metro,tram and suburban railway options. It's more convenient to get a 24 ($3 Euro) hour or 3 day tourist travel card which includes airport transfers for($15 Euro) at any metro station which gives unlimited travel within Athens. Check tourism site for details of free entry to museums,monuments e.g. Sundays from November to March and other specified dates during the year.

great location & a very nice hotel
Athens has pretty high hotel costs,but the Herodion manages to offer a good deal. The hotel has a a sharp lobby/bar area and nice roof top with hot tubs. Rooms are spare, but just fine. It's within a block of the new museum ( which shouldn't be missed) and very close to many of the old Athens historic sights. Inexepensive greek street restaurants are two blocks away as is the rail. system. staff ifriendly and helpful.

athens is hot even for SoCal travellers. Do the Parthenon early and indoors museums later.Folks eat late here & many restaurants are empty until 9:00 PM.

Wonderful View of the Acropolis
Likely a typical European hotel. Wonderful rooftop view and general location for the Acropolis and Plaka. Upcharges for electronic hotel safe in room, whirlpool/spa and internet. Seemed unaware of non-smoking room request.

Great Location
The rooms were very clean. The airconditioning worked great and there was a nice TV. You have to pay to use the jacuzzi and it was cold when we tried to use it. Our room did not have a view of the Acropolis, but there is an excellent view from the roof top patio. The breakfast buffet was large and the service was good. The location is excellent because it is near the metro. The lobby is nice and there is a bar and restaurant.
