Value for money

It was cheaper to book an extra night through this site rather than at the front desk. Close enough to the main ferry gates. Situated in a back street rather than the main 'drag', I enjoyed my stay.

There's a great, atmospheric restaurant near the main market, gate 8. Unpretentious but full of atmosphere.

Very OK for the price

Although the area is not the most nicest from Piraeus, the hotel itself is clean, and worth what I paid for. Shower was improved against last stay, floor has no more carpets, what I like much more. Also some nice painting was done. Te person at front desk was also very friendly and helpful. I would recommend for all who are not afraid to stay in the back areas of Piraeus.

Close to Pireaus

My room was extremely small, but for overnight it was fine. The staff is very helpful and is as accommodating as possible. If you have little or no luggage, it is within walking distance of the port so a taxi would not be needed. However, if you have much luggage, a taxi is still needed. Beware of the taxis in Greece, or at least Athens - you get charged about $5 for each piece of luggage you have - even if it is only a two-minute ride to the port!

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

As stated above, taxi drivers charge high rates and charge for each piece of luggage. To go about two minutes, it will cost you at least $10! There are several places to eat down by the port, but finding a little market is harder. I finally found one after searching quite a bit on a side street leading up from the port.

Good City Hotel

The Faros 1 is well located close to the main gates of Piraeus port but on a quiet side street. The hotel is comfortable and well maintained with a good choice of quality restaurants and bars within a 10 - 15 minute walk to the Zea Marina, where the locals come out at night to promenade. Good as a base for visiting Athens' historic sights or for doing day excursions to the nearby islands

Excellent

This is a perfect hotel with the right price, if you are taking the early speed boattoanisland. Figure a 20 minute walk to the boat as Greeks underestimate time by at least 1/2.
