Good for museum, Away from the City
We primarily visited the museum and some surrounding area. There are small, non touristy shopping areas and restaurants nearby. BUT this is not the best area. Several areas of drug activity in the nearby park.

Nice Hotel with a Wonderfull Stuff, i stayed there twice with my husband during our travels in Greece. The location is a little challenging, but its safe and only a short walk, like 5 min. to the metro, which is great. Great price for this hotel.

Bad neighborhood -
We have no complaints about the hotel itself...but it is behind the Architectural Museum (drug area)...we had one of our suitcases stolen as we off loaded the bus in front of the museum....Mr. Simeonoglou at the front desk couldn't have been more helpful...directing us to police station, restaurant, etc. One cabbie way overcharged us and he was upset about that. If you stay, have taxi service so you aren't walking the neighborhood and you will be fine.

Short drive from hotel
You must do Plaka for shops and restaurants and MUST do New Museum as well as bus 400 for city tour. Only 5 euros for tour and you can hop on and off all day. Of course, the Acropolis....

Museum Hotel in Athens
This hotel has great potential. The price is okay, the location is not bad (quiet, but still not far from the main areas of interest, good transportation), it has free fruit juice 24/7, free wifi, staff was friendly but the room itself was really not up to my expectations. It was small, dark, the shower was "microsocopic", the air conditioning could not be adjusted, so it was either too hot or cold. Other rooms may be better though, but I was unable to negotiate an upgrade.

Very convenient
Although the area initially looked a little sketchy, it turned out to be all right. Unfortunately, the fold out cot was very uncomfortable. The girls had to move the mattress to the floor. The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating.

If you head back away from the hotel and museum, you come across a couple of less touristy and less expensive restaurants. The front desk will recommend them.

Wonderful find, at a ...
Wonderful find, at a great price. Super clean and very up to date. Good sized room, lovely bathroom and they provide a wonderful buffet breakfast.
