What a dump

The only positive thing about this hotel was the location and the wireless connection in the room. The place was old and run down; the carpeting was coming up all over the place; it was dirty and depressing...I would never go there again unless they renovated it and hired less harried staff.

Tucked away

We stayed at this hotel for one night. Overall it was a nice facility and had pretty good service. The hotel is on a tiny street that is not easy to find... even the cab drivers had a hard time. The rooms were nice and clean and the complimentary breakfast buffet had a very nice selection.

Unbeatable location for the price

we came from a cruise and stayed one day in athens. Athens Cypria is a small hotel but in a perfect location. we did not have to take another bus or taxi to go around. acropolis was 10 minutes away and the stores around were wonderful. we had an early flight the next day, we had to leave at 4am, the hotel people prepared continental breakfast just for us. friendly staffs. we will stay there again if we ever go back to athens.

Great location

Great location...less than 3 min walk from airport express bus station and within walking distance to all of the sightseeing and attractions in Athens. Rooms are small but great price for location, great breakfast, free wireless,....a bit difficult for cabs to get to. Overall, centrally located and quite safe.

Gret locatiion and friendly staff

I had a lovely light room with a balcony to sit on. The breakfasts were really great and substantial and the hotel is so close to Syntagma Square and all amenities, shops restaurants and a nice area. Friendly staff, spotlessly clean and a great place to stay.

Decent place, good location

========================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================= ============================================================================================================================================================================The hotel was clean and the location was convenient. Some staff were very pleasant and helpful some were not. The beds were uncomfortable but clean. Furniture was old and scratched up - I had better in rooms on the Greek islands for a lot less cost.

Athens Cypria Hotel

The hotel was good. The cab driver couldn't find it, so we were dropped off and left on our own. We found it after asking three different places for directions. The staff wasn't all that friendly in comparison to other hotels we stayed at in Athens. Great location though. Close to shopping and the hotel was clean. I would probably spend the money on a different hotel next time though, just based on the staff not being that friendly.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Catch a cab to and from Syntagma Square and map out the hotel's location. It's easier to walk to than get directions or dropped off somewhere else!!

Athens Cypria Hotel

The hotel provides above average rooms at a relatively reasonable price for the Syntagma area. Not to be confused with a 5 or top 4* but a very good value for the very convenient location.

Very nice accomodations

Hotel is very convenient to Syntagma square but it took me a while to figure out where it was. I made several inquiries on the street and was finally pointed in the right direction. The hotel is always busy but the front desk staff are extremely helpful and very patient. I will stay there again when I am in Athens. It is a great location for sightseeing. Walk to the Metro and be at the Acropols Museum in one stop. Walk to the Agora and the Roman Forum. Shopping and dining in the Plaka is very close and you are right off a main shopping street if that is of interest.

Location, location, location

I went to Athens just to see the Acropolis. The hotel is very well situated, and we walked to everywhere - the Acropolis, Plaka, Monastriki, the Benaki Museum, the new and outstanding Acropolis Museum, etc. Like most places in Europe, prices for the simplest things were high but the hotel was very good value, especially with the outstanding free breakfast bar. I would have liked to have had information on where to eat that was close by, especially which tavernas offered music and dancing. We found one, but we were leaving early the following day so we didn't go to it. The hotel should have little maps (You are here plus good restaurants and cafes for people watching). This was our first trip to Athens...we wouldn't go again because one need not see the Acropolis twice, but if you hadn't been to it yet, it should be on your "bucket list."

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

If you have just a small suitcase with you, consider taking the train to/from the airport. The train costs just 10 euros for one trip whereas a taxi (from Syntagma are) costs 30.
