Comfortable yet stylish hotel located beside Athens' main attractions

One of the most impressive aspects to the Arethusa Hotel Athens has to be its location. Visitors eager to take in all the sights and sounds of Athens could do no better than having them on their hotel doorstep. As well as being neighbors to Syntagma Square and Plaka, other attractions, like the Acropolis and the Temple of Zeus, are very close by. The hotel itself provides comfortable rooms and a bar with stunning panoramas over the city. Additional facilities include a laundry service, baby-sitting and a currency exchange.

Not worth the money

I struggle to find something good to say about this hotel. The service at the front desk was less than pleasant, we walked into our room and discovered that the deadbolt didn't work. In addition, the beds were EXTREMELY uncomfortable. It felt like being in a movie where you're waiting in a grungy hotel "waiting for instructions" from the bad guys. The location was nice, but for the money, I expected something more. There are PLENTY of hotels around there for less that are nicer. The one good thing was the breakfast. YUM.

This hotel has got very good location

This hotel has got very good location - near main station Syntagma, so it is very near to Acropolis and other classical sights. But it is really small and for me looks like a hostel. Reception area and lift has got strange smell (maybe it is some kind of detol but really not nice). Roof garden was closed when we wanted to see it. Room was small with very little bathroom and a lot of noise from outside. I would not give this hotel more than 2 stars. What you pay for is actually location which is really good.

Convenient to dining and shopping

Very small room. Bathroom even smaller, requiring door to be closed to either sit down or use sink. Extremely convenient to Syntagma Square.
