This is a very traditional hotel with one of the best restaurants in Rothenburg.
0510lh It is a townhouse-style building, with timber beams on the exterior of the upper floors, a sloping tiled roof and attic windows. The lower half of the building is colourfully decorated with flower boxes and climbing plants. This hotel is centrally located within the city walls. The hotel is full of character and charm and is one of the oldest buildings in Rothenburg.

Although it offers all modern facilities, the whole hotel is steeped in history. Each room has its own individual character, size and design, although on average the rooms are small. They are excellently furnished, each with its own style and additional pieces of furniture, creating a homey and warm atmosphere. Both the rooms and the bathrooms are in very good condition.
The restaurant, which is on the ground floor, is tastefully furnished, with extra lamps and ornaments adding to the already-cosy and relaxing ambiance. There is also a wine parlour; it is more informal in style, with heavy carved furniture, subtle lighting and candles, which make it relaxing and intimate.

Very quaint and charming hotel. Small but well staffed. Not your average holiday Inn. Staff speaks very good english. The staff helped set up two tours for our group in advance over the internet and the tours were outstanding, Night Watchman
and Day tour with Daniel. Hope you like bells if you book this hotel. St. Jacobs Church is located next to the hotel and well you can imagine the church bells ringing. I kinda liked it but it woke my wife up too early and she's not a friendly person in the morning. LOL.

Short walk from hotel
You can walk to ALL of the local attractions in Rothenburg. We were there during some pretty cold weather and the heat is convention type rather than forced air. It did take a while to heat up the room but we just went to the bar and waited. If you see a special in the resturant advertising fondue, try it. It is a great meal with lots of meat, cheese, and sauces.
The hotel is ideally located in the center of town providing convenient access to shopping, historical sites and all manner of food, drink and treats. The hotel nicely marries an old building with nicely furnished rooms and the on-site beer
garden and restaurant had great service and excellent regional cuisine...in addition to being family friendly. Highly recommended!
The hotel is very charming and well located in the heart of the village. It's only a 15 minute walk from the train station. The hotel offers a very good restaurant and lovely room, friendly and helpful staff.
Prepaid for a Saturday evening in that my son and I were spending the last week of fasching in Germany. Plan was to visit parades in Wurzburg on Sunday and Mainz on Monday.
Record 12' snowstorm in Dallas(previous best was 7.8') and plane canx.
Left a day late.
Called hotel directly to explain situation and have our date move to any Saturday this summer. Refused.
The hotel was well within their rights but felt they could have accomodated our flexible request.

Make a reservation well in advance at the Rathause for right after the Wurtzburg parade (3 PM). Great fun, nice food, super location and reasonable prices.
