Excellent Location/Basic Accommodations
Hotel is in an excellent location just outside the old town gate, close to the train station and other public transportation. While the room was functional and basic, the room and general hotel furnishings were a bit tired and in need of some updating and refreshing. Breakfast was quite good and provided a good variety to meet the needs of the multi-national breakfast eaters. Staff ranged from friendly and helpful to bored and not interested. Overall it met our needs of a clean place to sleep and freshen up after a full day of sightseeing, close to public transportation. Bottom line ... a good basic, economical choice.

Tiredless traveler
A good place to stay
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was relatively quiet considering the there was a major street right outside my window. A computer was provided in the lobby. The breakfast was very good. The room was clean and roomy. Very convenient location near the RR station and the old town. Only problem was that my room was miles from the elevator.

The craftsmen and women's area right near the gate of the old town really provided a lot of choices for small and reasonably priced items.

Good location, modest institutional setting
Right across the street from the old city Nurnburg zentrum so was easy to find by car and had great under ground parking for a reasonable rate. The rooms were very dorm-like but for the price fine.

Park in the first spot nearest the hotel entrance since you'll have to back-up to go down into the parking garage after checking in

Very convenient hotel.
The Ibis Nurnberg City Hotel was very a nice hotel within a short walking distance from the main train station in Nuremberg.

Satisfying
All of the staff at the check in desk spoke English very well. They were very helpful during the check in and out experience. Was disappointed that we had to pay for parking but the parking in Germany is difficult everywhere so at least we felt the car was in a safe (but very small) garage. I would like to see an ice machine added for the convenience of its guests. The room was comfortable and clean and quiet.

It was located just across the street from the gate to old town of Nuerenberg and there were many places to eat within walking distance. We were able to to walk to all the sites. There was also a bus stop and train stop near by.
