This hotel is a family owned property which was established in 1490. The personal touch of family Kirchlechner, owner since ca 100 years, can be found everywhere in the hotel and guests are very often greeted by the owner himself. 0708 hm The facade has been beautifully renovated and the terrace-cafe on the first floor gives a pleasant view towards the Marienplatz. This historic hotel is located only two blocks away from the colourful Marienplatz in the real heart of the old Munich. All major sights are within walking distance.

All rooms are individual in style and size but are all equipped with modern amenities like Telephone, Pay TV, Safe and Hairdryer. They are all in very good condition as are the bathrooms.

Nice hotel, great location

Torbrau has a great location for the old town and the S Bahn. The staff were very helpful and we had a good size modern room overlooking the front of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent and the cafe was perfect for coffee and cakes

Great Location, Historic Building

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Torbrau. The room was spacious and comfortable. While parts of the building date back to the 14th century, the interior is modern and well maintained. The breakfast buffet was very nice and the managing director personally greeted guests coming to breakfast. The location could not have been better ... everthing that we wanted was within walking distance including museums, shopping, restaurants, etc. The Viktualienmarkt & Marienplatz are just a few blocks away. We would definately stay here again when we return to Munich.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Try the Rathskeller Weinstube located in the basement of the Altes Rathaus. The wine and food were both wonderful. There are quite a few other nice restaurants close by as well.
