Regent Hotel

Great location (near main train station) but rooms were badly outdated and worn out. Furniture and carpet stained/torn. Somewhat noisy near train station, but expected. Clock radio must have been from the 1960's. Breakfast looked good, but had to leave before it was served to make flight.

I booked this hotel for a business trip after finding most other locations unavailable during Oktoberfest. The price seemed alarmingly high, but not prohibitive for a (advertised) 4-star hotel. However, my room was lower than average quality, with only 1 single bed and no sofa or comfortable chair. The room I was assigned was at the most remote corner of the hotel, resulting in a stronger wireless internet signal from the neighboring hotel. I was never able to connect from the room, but had to walk out in the corridors or sit in the lobby to obtain (advertised) free internet. Without air conditioning, windows had to be opened for ventilation, so, instead of sleeping, I learned many drinking songs from happy throngs returning to the train station from the beer tents. And that was in between train wheel squeals.

The rooms are extremely basic, this is definitely no where near 4 stars... the heating seemed to be stuck on very hot and a small bottle of after shave went missing from my room.. All in all, not a great experience!

Although the high rate, the hotel could not provided me the internet acess,iinforming that the problem was my notebook. Therefore I used the wi-fi of another hotel(Alfa) near to the hotel. Perhaps they blocked passord or something else, although I have showed my notebook was working with another font(Net Gear - wireless font). Really I do not understand why they not provided someone who could help them to making work the wifi of the hotel,only they have recommended me to look for somebody of the lan house or anyone.

Economical, good location near central station, wireless internet, small but ok breakfast. Very narrow room, no a/c.

Chose this due to location near main station to surprisingly find we were oly minutes to the tents. Small but adequate singel rooms. Good breakfast

Overall, this hotel was OK. The buffet breakfast was very good with bread, meat, cheese, cereal, yogurt, and hot items also. It was very close to the main train station as well as public transportation subways and trams which was also great. However, I wasn't that impressed with the rooms. Ours was slightly dark, not super clean looking, and had no air-conditioning. It was comfortable enough since we just used it to sleep, but I wouldn't tell anyone that it was 4 star.

Our room was very dated and was located directly across the street from the train station. Noise is a problem if you need to open the windows - which we did. Not only could we hear the trains all night, but the announcements. Noise was not present when windows were closed. Breakfast consisted of traditional Bavarian dishes - very adequate. Staff were helpful and spoke excellent english. Parking garage is a real plus. Ten minute walk to main shopping area and center of town.

Simple, clean 80s style hotel. Basic room but very spacious. Breakfast quite expensive for what it is but a good spread.

If you are travelling for business or for leisure and you need Internet connection, this hotel is not for you. The internet connection is so poor. Its hard to connect and the very very slow. The carpet and furnitutres are so old and looks dirty. I stayed 4 nights in this hotel but they didnt even change my bedsheets, pillow case and cover even once.. They just fold it back but never change at all. In the room that I stayed, no mini bar. The breakfast is OK but the menu is the same EVERYDAY. So if you stay 1 week, you will have the same breakfast for 7 days. :-) The 14 inches old TV set doesnt offer any English program. Its all in german. What is good in this hotel is the location. Its very near to all tourist sights. You can go by foot most of the places. The main central terminal which is connected to the airport is just 5 minutes walk.
