Ideal hotel to stay in for its central location and basic standards. 0507 hm This is a large, traditional four-storey building with a grey facade. The hotel benefits from an extremely central location, only two minutes walk from the main train station and 10 minutes from Marienplatz and Munich's main shopping district. The building stands on a corner of a quiet side street and a busier main road.

The rooms are small on average and decorated in rather sombre colours, which makes them seem quite dark. However, they are in good condition and the furniture is of reasonable quality. The bathrooms are also in good condition.

Excellent location, no air conditioning

It was good but it was hot that week and the hotel does not have air conditioning. The location is excellent and you are in minutes from downtown Munich (like Marienpltaz). You are 1 block from the central train station (Hauptbahnhof). The elevators are really tight and need a lot of improvement.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Just walk towards Marienplatz and walk everywhere there. Lots of stores and cafes, really nice city to explore by walking. I had a great time.

We enjoyed our stay at the Germania

We enjoyed our stay at the Germania Hotel and would happily stay again. Room clean and warm (possibly too warm). Breakfast was good in terms of variety and quality. Staff very friendly and helpful especially when my nephew left his wallet in the foyer. Excellent location to explore Munich and being so close to the tran statin it is ideal for weekend breaks.

Great location specially for O

Great location specially for Oktobetfest. Service not so good made us wait past 3pm to check in, no fridge or kettle.

Only 5 mins walk from main railway

Only 5 mins walk from main railway station. Long dark hair (not mine) on bedsheets and in shower on check in and shower leaked. No soap provided. Leaking shower was not fixed for the duration of my 4 day stay even though I reported it on check in. Hotel is located on very noisy road. Breakfast buffet not refilled for last half hour of breakfast service so get there early.

Received serious bug bites in

Received serious bug bites in the beds, had to visit an apothcary to get medication; the shower fluctuated to seering hot whenever a toilet was flushed; room edges were coated in dust as if thorough cleaning is not done; door adjoining next room provided no noise barrier, guest in next room was very loud and played TV loudly; breakfas was good; staff was adequate; would not recommend this hotel

Good value for the money, but

Good value for the money, but surf around to see who gives you the best deal. Unlike many other hotels, the less impressive part was the reception, but of course you shouldn't mind that. Nice and clean rooms and good breakfast.

No A/C, no internet, no mini-bar.

No A/C, no internet, no mini-bar. Close to the Central BAHN rail system, so very convenient if you do not intend to rent a car. Clean, spacious room, polite staff, and very good breakfast buffet included in the reasonable room charge. Not a bad place to stay in Munich if you can overlook the three creature comforts mentioned in my opening.

Room very clean; linen very clean;

Room very clean; linen very clean; staff very friendly and helpful; security could be better for left luggage, it was unsupervised. Some smell in lift or basement. Close to main railway station and city centre, trams etc. Otherwise very good value for money. Would definitely stay again.
