reasonable stay
the hotel across from the Hauptbahnhof is clean, friendly with very small but clean rooms. Staff was helpful. The location (very close to all city public transport), size, and furnishings were ok for a few nights alone on business, but hardly a place for the family on vacation.

Long walk from hotel
some ten minutes by S-Bahn or ca. 20 minute walk is Die Gohliser Wirtschaft at Gohliser Str. 20. Not expensive, excellent food and fully authentic old restaurant/bar. Higly recommended.

I have stayed in this hotel a few times before and is one of my preferred hotels for Leipzig. It is extremely close to the main railway station and local tram stops. The room was a bit on the small side as the bed was nearly the same width as the room. The toilet was a bit of a tight squeeze for my more than ample frame, but would be perfectly adequate for most people.

An upgrade from the Hostel Hotel
I decided I would try a couple of places to get a feel for a future visit with my wife. After two nights at the AO Hostel/Hotel this was a nice upgrade. Room size is similar to the hostel/hotel but a step up in appearance and comfort. Located across from the train station, I did sense more noise than when I was at the hostel. I would suppose getting a room on the other side away from the station would eliminate this. There was less train noise at the hostel. Hostel was very busy and the Holiday Inn was a more quiet with fewer guests. I did not sample the breakfast buffet but heard good things from one of the other guests. The hostel breakfast is very cheap but very German or European. If you want a wider choice for breakfast go to Holiday Inn price is 10 euro.

The room is too small
The location is just cross to the train station. It is perfect for me. But the room is too small. The toilet cannot hardly be used.

The big plus for this hotel is
The big plus for this hotel is its location directly across the street from the Hauptbahnhof. I stayed here twice during my trip, and, although both my rooms were very small with a tiny, cramped bathroom, they were clean and quiet, and contained all the essentials, including air-conditioning and a fridge. Breakfast was not included in my room rate, but there were plenty of choices for this in the Promenaden, the very pleasant shopping mall attached to the railway station. Based on the excellent location and the reasonable price, I shall definitely return to this hotel when I am next in Leipzig.

Convenient location and comfortable stay
The purpose of our visit to Leipzig is to attend a conference. This was our first trip to the city. This hotel is situated right across from the main railway station. There are excellent restaurants and good shopping within walking distance from this hotel. It is also easy to get trams or taxis or buses. The staff were quite friendly and they speak English. Unfortunately, power outlets are not located in convenient locations and the hotel could not provide a power extension cable (cord).

Short walk from hotel
Promanaden, with 140 shops, is located below the main floor of the railway station. Only 5 to 10 minutes of walking will take you to other shopping malls and department stores such as Karstadt, Messe Markt, Kaufhaus. A tram tour of the city introduces one to the main historic centres.
