Major problem was the cleanliness

Major problem was the cleanliness in the bathroom, and they haven't any kind of facility like as internet acess, wi-fi etc. I suppose that considering the price charged was not in accordance with the level of the hotel.

Comfortable Stay

We were passing through Heidelberg and stayed one night at the Leonardo Heidelberg Hotel. The hotel has everything you would expect a US hotel to have. The staff spoke perfect English and the hotel was in a location that was convenient to both the main train/bus station and the Haupstrasse, as long as you don't mind short walks. It was also very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

It's a very short walk to the Haupstrasse, where you'll find something for everyone. Just be prepared for streets crowded with pedestrians on the weekends.

Good for the price

I recommend the hotel for the 100 to 120 euro range with comfortable and quiet rooms. Walking distance to old town on Haupt Strasse or to the castle. The breakfasts were fantastic in typical German fashion and very courteous staff. Great conference rooms for business meetings. Only down side,if it matters, the rooms are not very attractive and need renovation, but they were clean and adequate. It's not the Marriott but the prices are much cheaper here. I recommend it.

Simple, Clean, Comfortable, Courteous

My wife and I spent two days relaxing and enjoying Heidelberg's ambience after a week teaching nearby. The Leonardo provided a perfect, inexpensive, quiet and homey environment, in an incredibly convenient location, a safe haven in which to rest and recoup. The staff (all English speaking) bent over backwards to make us comfortable and welcome, especially the desk clerks, who made sure we knew exactly where everything was in Heidelberg (including the Haupstrasse's amazing shopping and dining!) They also made all of our arrangements for transportation to the airport. After an awesome, luxurious complimentary breakfast on our last day, a shuttle was waiting for us and took us to the door of Lufthanza in Frankfurt's airport. I highly recommend this friendly hotel. It could use a bit more elegance in the room itself, but for the price, their simple double room is just fine.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

You can easily walk to the old bridge and there catch a boat to see the Neckkar and nearby historic villages. You can stay a couple of hours in a charming village, dine, shop, sight-see, and return in a later boat. I've been all over Europe and Heidelberg is as gorgeous and hospitable as any.
