Nice Comfortable Hotel
MtthwRyn Jun 1, 2009
Nice and Comfortable hotel. Decor was a little dated. If you require air conditioning to be comfortable, as we do, this is ... the ONLY game in town! It is really a taxi ride to Old Town, so the location isn't perfect, but the A/C made it worth it. Beds are very comfortable.

great views and location
Ralph Aug 25, 2008
The heidelberg marriot is located in a great place for visiting old heidelberg with all its stores and cafes, but is far ... enough away to feel seculed and avoid all the foot traffic.Next to the Neckar River, the views from the hotel are wonderful. The rooms were imaculate and very, very compfortable. The food however was not much to be desired, way overpriced, little selection and very poor quality.I would not recommend eating there, but the overall experience was very good.
Traveler type: Business
old town with all its shopping is about a 20 min. walk or 5 min by taxi. But is worth it to walk and all the many cafes are better than the food offered by the hotel.

Perfect even for senior citizens on holiday
Joanne May 21, 2007
This hotel has a three-tier breakfast arrangement, from 12 euros for mostly breads plus a couple of cheeses, coffee, and ... juice to 18 euros for the works (pancakes, waffles, many different meats, etc). We thought the 14 euro breakfast, offering something between the 12 & the 18, gave the best value. Our room was very comfortable and we loved the thick terry robes and slippers that were provided. This was one of the best hotels we stayed at ...and we stayed at quite a few in three weeks.

Walking to Old Town is good exercise, but take the tram back because the shopping street is the longest in Europe and you'll be tired. Be sure to specify that you are getting off at the Bergheim stop in order to get the 1,00 Euro rate. And take the boat trip to Neckarsteinach; it's about 2-3 hours and delightful.
