The heidelberg marriot is located in a great place for visiting old heidelberg with all its stores and cafes, but is far enough away to feel seculed and avoid all the foot traffic.Next to the Neckar River, the views from the hotel are wonderful.
The rooms were imaculate and very, very compfortable. The food however was not much to be desired, way overpriced, little selection and very poor quality.I would not recommend eating there, but the overall experience was very good.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Long walk from hotel
old town with all its shopping is about a 20 min. walk or 5 min by taxi. But is worth it to walk and all the many cafes are better than the food offered by the hotel.
It's very conveniently located if you want to be close to the train station (a quick walk away). You'll need to walk a bit to get to the historic area of Heidelberg although buses and trams will help with that.
Staff is very helpful and friendly,
the gym is open 24 hours and the rooms and beds are very comfortable.
Breakfast is also very good.
