Hotel Victoria is situated on the edge of the pedestrian zone, just 200 metres from the main station and the theatre and looks out on to the Colombi Park. This charming historical building is furnished with care and offers visitors a modern ambience. Our rooms will satisfy the wishes of all our guests. Some of them have stucco decoration, parquet flooring and overlook the Colombi Park. The hotel has two cocktail bars (the bar Hemingway and Smokers Lounge). All rooms have air conditioning and smoking is not allowed.

Exceeded our expectations

We were very pleased with this hotel (on our first road trip of this region of Germany). Our room was very comfortable - loved the carpet and coffee machine. Emailed the hotel to reserve a garage for the car. All dealt with very efficiently. When we arrived the garage had our name on it - literally! Very centrally located. Since we only had one night in the city the reception staff helpfully pointed out the city highlights and we went straight to the Schlossberg restaurant via the Bergbahn for cocktails overlooking the city. Ate in the Altstadt. Ended the evening with cocktails back at hotel - the cocktails were excellent and the bar was very busy and clearly a popular choice. No hesitation in recommending the hotel and destination. Try also to visit Triberg (great drive through the Black Forest Mountains) and Cafe Schafer (which featured in the recent Hairy Bikers Europe series) for the absolutely exquisite Black Forest Gateaux.

Quiet Hotel

The hotel is basic but very comfortable and clean. The beds are extremely comfortable and the hotel prides itself for being "Green". The hotel is dog friendly and is across the street from a park if you are traveling with your four legged friend. Overall a lovely stay.

Premier Hotel Victoria Great Hotel!

The Hotel Victoria is the "perfect" location as it is very close to the train station. You just simply roll your luggage just across the street and in a few minutes you are there. The hotel is not the Ritz, or anything fancy however, it has a small hotel and a cozy feel with a very elegant breakfast room, and a fantastic breakfast bar. Our room was larger than the other rooms as we got a room with a balcony (there is only a few) just by asking. The room is simple but nice, spotless with hardwood floors and free WIFI. Their restaurant is limited as you can just order pizza or a sandwich but everything is within walking distance to the hotel with great restaurants and shops nearby. The service could not have been any better and we felt that the hotel was a good find. This was a business trip combined with pleasure and stayed @ Hotel Victoria for 9 days. We visited Heidelberg, Titisee, and since Freiburg is by the train station, it is a great base. There are plenty to do in Freiburg as it has abundance of restaurants, the black forrest, museums, great cathedrals, churches with incredible architecture, shopping, outdoor market with fresh fruits, fish, flowers, herbs, and anything you desire is all right there all within walking distance. Freiburg is a tourist town and a college town with many Europeon tourist but not like Heidleberg where you see many Americans. The hotel and the City itself is a jewel. Most of the people there speak English and Germans were all so nice to us!

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Visit the Cathedral (you will be able to find it as it's one of the tallest buildings), there is a museum directly across the street from Hotel Victoria, there is also an incline that will take you directly to a very nice restaurant on top of the mountain. If you are in good physical condition, you can climb the mountain and reach a tower where you can see 3 or 4 different Countries. The open air market is outside of the Cathederal on certain days of the week. Ask the hotel clerk and she will give you a map, along with any information you need. We visited some great restaurants. Here are a few of good restaurants we visited: Martin's Brau (German), La Piazza (very inexpensive), and the restaurant on top of the incline (a bit pricey).
