Perfect connection to the airport

The hotel is perfectly located across from the main station in Frankfurt. The staff is friendly, although the night receptionist (I arrived around midnight) did not seem to pay much attention. I asked for a wake-up call, but it never happened the next morning.

Great Staff - clean room

I was at the Savoy for 12 days. I found only friendly, helpful and nice staff. The restaurant is nice - the pool/sauna/masseuse were amazing. the rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is the best in FF for walking and catching trains to anywhere. I am completely satisfied with my stay at the savoy.

Good clean Hotel

The hotel is in an excellent location however this does make it noisy. If you book a room request it away from the main road and a couple of floors up. We had a room on the first floor which was noisy and drafty. We moved during the week due to noisy neighbours and had a much warmer and quieter room on the third floor. Also none of the curtains close so you have no privacy on the lower floors. The breakfast was very expensive so I would recommend you eat out as there are loads of places in the station just over the road. The room was clean and comfortable although the pay TV is very expensive so if you don't understand German you are stuck with CNN and Sky Sports! We found the staff very helpful with good English and I would stay at this Hotel again.

One Night By the Red Light District of Frankfurt

This hotel is pretty nice on the interior and the rooms are decent. It is an easy walk to the hotel from the Hauptbahnof. However, it is located near the red light district and in a sketchy area of Frankfurt. There are ladies of the night and crackheads wandering the street at night around this hotel. It is a tough neighborhood.

Use the Tourist Center for all things related to Frankfurt and the Reizentrum (the Travelling Center) for all trains in and out of the train station. Very friendly and knowledgable staff.

Location, location, location . . . . . .

Having stayed at other A&O Hostels in Germany on previous visits, I had an idea of what to expect and, although not identical to the others, Munich's A&O Hostel does possess the expected standards. It offers a great location. Only a few hundred metres along the road adjacent to the main railway station, means it is not only easy to find but also has public transport, an array of eateries and bars at the doorstep. . . . and is conveniently close to tours and shopping. (Neighbouring hotels include Sofitel and LeMeridien . . . . both giving testament to the ideal location!!) The property itself is over several floors, serviced by a small elevator. The rooms and public areas are basic but clean and cheerful. Most rooms at the back of the property have small balconies overlooking a courtyard. The multi-lingual staff are knowledgeable and (mostly) friendly. . . . . but this ISN'T the Sofitel . . . . it doesn't come with Sofitel prices. This is no-nonsense, value for money, "get what you pay for" accommodation. Would I stay here again? . . . . . . Yes. Would I recommend it to others? . . . . . . . Yes. Would I book other A&O Hostels based on my stay in this one? . . . . . Yes!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The property does offer an in-house breakfast service but I prefer a short walk toward the railway station. Along the way are bakeries, and a variety of eateries. The railway station also offers a range of eating options that is sure to satisfy anyone.

Good spot for a short stop

We stayed at the Hotel Savoy for one night, towards the end of a long vacation. The hotel is right across the street from the Hauptbahnhof, kind of to the southeast -- just take the underground pedestrian passage and you're just around the corner from it. It's clean, conveniently located (just take U- or S-Bahn to wherever you need to go), and features a nice pool, sauna, and steam room on the top floor. (Note that all of the latter are only available until 10 PM -- they shut the lights off automatically! I believe that area reopens at 7 AM, but I could be wrong.) The rooms are the standard size -- small but not uncomfortably so. The shower/tub in our room was a bit awkward as it was very high -- when standing in the shower, my head was nearly at the ceiling, and I am just a little bit over average height for an American! One note: wi-fi is not complimentary. Also, we were charged extra for a room with air conditioning...but as it was such a hot day when we were there, we didn't mind paying!

Shopping tip: Not Applicable

Head to the Zeil (Hauptwache or Konstablerwache station) for shopping -- there's lots of stuff open there.
