Stay away from the Sheraton!
I had an overnight layover and stayed at the Maritim with my wife and 11-month-old daughter. The staff was great, taking care of all necessary arrangements to make sure the baby was comfortable. We ate lunch at the restaurant in the lobby and the food and staff were also very good. I made several long-distance phone calls to Greece and the US and expected to pay an arm and a leg, but they charged me a VERY reasonable 5-euros. I really appreciate that. The location couldn't be better. It's about 100 meters/yards from the airport entrance. It was so convenient, we strolled over a couple times to buy some snacks and to walk around. We tried to book on the return leg, but we (unfortunately) decided to try the Sheraton. It was like night and day--no comparison. I will recommend the Maritim to all my friends.

Neat and convenient
This is a world-class hotel for business people rushing in-and-out of Dusseldorf. It does the job extremely well, with its modern, well-appointed rooms and its proximity to the airport. Walking to and from the airport terminal makes it extemely attractive. It is a very quiet, efficient hotel, without bells and whistles. So, do not expect a Las Vegas atmosphere.

Take the inexpensive S-bahn train ride into the city center and save the money from a traxi fare for a night out int he old town.

Very nice accommodations close to the airport - perfect for an early flight out of Duesseldorf airport. DUS train station is a short sky shuttle ride away and provides easy access to the Rhein-Ruhr district, Northrhine Westfalia, Central and Northern Germany, as well as BeNeLux Europe. I arrived on the last leg of my trip and took time to visit the world cultural heritage site Zeche Zollverein, worth one's while if interested in how architecture and engineering as well as industrial processes intertwine. It also highlights the importance of adjusting to changes in economy, ecology, and culture.

GREAT hotel and location!
The hotel was a 2 minute walk from the airport. The check-in was smooth, and there was room service/lounge available until 1am, which was great because we got in after 11:30pm and were hungry. We had a 10+ hr layover and this hotel was perfect. It was neat, clean, and very high tech. Would definitely stay here again!

What a great hotel. We attended
What a great hotel. We attended a local trade show and it was great to go back to a hotel that has a great choice of restaurant, leisure facilities and beautiful rooms. Lots of the other delegates were very jealous.

Part of the reception staff was
Part of the reception staff was friendly, part a bit less. It wasn't made clear from the beginning that I was not entitled to have breakfast. When asked about breakfast price I understood that it was 10 euros, during check out it turned out to be 23 euros. It should be made clear that I could not have breakfast within my reservation and the information wasn't easily available. Also there were difficulties to find my booking via hotelclub, I had to wait over 20 minutes before I was given room key.
