Elegance, comfort along Rhine at Cologne hotel close to historic center
The Maritim Hotel Cologne boasts 454 guest rooms, 20 conference rooms and two large banquet halls. Business guests make use of the business center and Internet access (fees apply). Four on-site restaurants cater to every occasion and comfort standard, while a glass-covered main hall houses exclusive boutiques. great location-ok hotel
great location, really nice breakfast buffet. Rooms good size for Europe. Decor is a bit dated and needs to be replaced. Room was clean, bed ok. Great location.

Itinerant Lecturer
The conference center at cologne.
I travel a great deal, and I've stayed at a very large number of hotels. Here the staff was extremely professional, fast, and effective. The rooms were immaculate, and the layout of the hotel was great. The place is an excellent conference center, but it is a conference center and if you're staying in cologne but not for a conference, you might want to keep that in mind. The only complaint is that the mattress and bed were extremely uncomfortable. Also, in contrast with the typical European shower, which has almost no water pressure to save on water, these showers were of such high pressure that it was painful. The restaurants in the hotel were FABULOUS, but the room service food was tasteless. All the more reason to use the restaurants!!

The cathedral looks great at night. As does walking along the river. Both of these are < 2 minutes away.

Mir war es bisher neu, dass man explizit äußern muss, dass mann ein Nichtraucherzimmer wünscht. Da ich Nichtraucherin und zudem schwanger bin, habe ich mal ein Häkchen bei Nichtraucherzimmer gemacht. Da war dann die Überraschung sehr groß, als ich mein Raucherzimmer bezog. Auf Nachfrage an der Rezeption wurde mir dann mitgeteilt, dass mein Wunsch ein Nichtraucherzimmer zu erhalten vom Reiseveranstalter nicht übermittelt wurde, und dass leider alle Nichtraucherzimmer ausgebucht seien. Das heißt dann wohl im Ergebnis, dass es in diesem Hause Standard ist, Gäste in einem Raucherzimmer unterzubringen.
