Attractive and compact hotel in the heart of historic Cologne
The Astor & Aparthotel, in central Cologne, is a detached and elegant establishment ideal for exploring this great European city. The underground is ten minutes' walk away and the cathedral just along the road. Coffee shops, restaurants and bars pack the vicinity and the hotel's bright and cheerful breakfast room, with its yellow walls, stone floor tiles and enormous windows, offers a large buffet to get the day going. The Astor & Aparthotel has its own authentic sauna with separate patio for total relaxation in the epicenter of this hectic and exciting city.

- The rooms are medium in size and decorated in a bright and modern way with modern beige pine wood furniture, designer lights, light grey carpets and modern beige chairs and armchairs. The bathrooms are clean and functional, but a bit small.

- The breakfast room is bright with a stone tiled floor and yellow painted walls. The massive breakfast buffet is of a very high standard and the whole room is bright with huge windows.

Nice for the price, but hot
We stayed at the Astor and Aparthotel for one week at the end of June. There was no air conditioning, and we were given a room on the second floor facing the street. Since it was quite hot, we had to keep the windows open. The primary problem was that the acoustics of the room were such that any noise from the street sounded like they were coming from within the room! This was mainly a problem on the weekends, since the hotel is located one street over from what I can only call a party street. Otherwise, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was kept very clean, the bed was comfortable (though the pillows left something to be desired), and the breakfast was delish. The area is a 15-20 minute brisk walk away from the cathedral and museums, but there are many dining options very near the hotel. If you're planning your stay when the weather is cool, then you can't beat this hotel for the price. If it's the height of summer, look somewhere else.

Hotel stupendo in posizione ce
Hotel stupendo in posizione centralissima: in soli dieci minuti a piedi si raggiunge la Cattedrale. Fermata della metro nelle vicinanze: in 2 minuti si arriva alla stazione ferroviaria (comodissima quando si viaggia con i bagagli). Camera e bagno nuovissimi e con tutti i confort. Colazione a self service ampia e gustosa. Personale dell'albergo gentilissimo e sempre disponible.
