A great value for the dollar

We loved this hotel. First, the staff was wonderful. Everyone at the reception desk was helpful and friendly, especially ... the woman with the short dark hair ([...]) who was so professional, energetic and thoughtful. Our room was clean and spacious and, except for the poor design of the shower (which allowed too much water to spray on the rest of the bathroom, the rooms were wonderful. Our only complaint, and it is a small one, is that we had to renew our free internet connection every 24 hours with a new password. While not horrible, our connection seemed to expire at just the wrong time on several of the 5 nights of our stay. And one more thing, the location is wonderful since the metro was just outside the hotel. Don't forget to try the restaurant's currywurst, a Berlin delicacy and well done by the kitchen staff. We'd definitely go back to this hotel.

We avoided the one hour line at the Reichstag to view the city from the dome by booking a reservation at the Reichstag's terrace roof top restaurant. The view was great, our lunch was delicious, especially the fish and the sachertort. And then we took the beautiful walk to the top of the dome and enjoyed the 360 degree views of the city.

This was the best hotel I've ever stayed in for many reasons. We were able to sleep off jet-lag in the most comfortable bed ... in the most serence and peaceful environment. We chose not to have maid service and they respected our wishes by leaving clean towles and all the ammenities by the door each day. The location is right on the river and just blocks away from many tourist sights and fantastic restaurants. The train stop is literally 30m from the front entrance with simple connections to all of Berlin. We are quite travelers and completely appreciate a good nights sleep after a day of seeing the sights- this was the perfect hotel for us. The front desk service was welcoming and spoke fluent English. The room was extremely clean with beautiful framed art, crisp clean sheets and a large flat screen TV. Overall, this is my best hotel experience for an extended stay in Europe.

Not knowing Berlin, I found the hotel to be in a great location. Just far enough away from the tourism traffic but close enough to get everywhere rather easily.

Staying at the Art' Otel Berlin mitte
Choo Choo Charlie Sep 16, 2009
Very modern hotel boutique tyoe hotel next to Australian embassy. Could walk to many places - Alexanderplatz, ... Nickolaiviertel, and only 1/2 block to U2 station Markishes Museum station. We parked the rental car in their underground garage and used dailey public transport passes purchased right at the hotel desk (small surcharge but no need to deal with change). Hotel sits on a small canal half block from Fisherninsel Strasse and a great place Millie's Cafe only a 5 minute walk around the corner for morning Italian coffee and quiche. Also a grocery store next to it for supplies Fishern Inseln Passage. Also a decent local restaurant across the canal. Hotel offers meals and has a cool bar too but a bit pricy. We were there this past August in a rare heat wave and the air condioning worked really well and was much appreciated. Staff were very nice and made reservations for us at there sister hotel in Dresden which worked out great. We would definitely stay there again. Used Orbitz to book this hotel in dollars and saved over the Euro rate.

the hotel ambiance is very modern and artsy. We arrived late but enjoyed the bar and restaurant as well as a very fresh ... continental breakfast the next morning. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend it.

Exceptional Hotel
Berlin first-timer Aug 15, 2009
We spent 3 nights at the art'otel berlin-mitte, and it couldn't have been better. The hotel is in a great location in East ... Berlin with the U right down the street. With only a few stops to the museum areas, you can't beat the location. There is a tiny bit of construction street side, but do not let this deter you from staying here. The staff was exceptional and spoke great English and couldn't have been more helpful. We had to ask for extra soap and shampoo but they gladly gave it to us. Hotel itself was extremely clean. Drinks in the bar are a little pricey so I'd recommend going elsewhere for those. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Berlin.

Quiet location, right on the U2 line
Alonamarie Aug 15, 2009
Quiet room, nicely appointed. There was construction across the street, but the rooms were so soundproof that we weren't ... bothered by it. Rooms are clean and very modern looking. Beds were comfortable. Overall, the room was on the small side, but the space within the room was well utilized. This hotel is a little out of the way, though. There are a few restaurants and cafes near by, but not a lot of hustle and bustle. This was fine by us, as we prefer a quiet location for a hotel, but it did mean we had to catch the train to most of the places we wanted to see.

Cafe at the corner of Fischerinsel and Gertraudenstrasse was our main source of coffee. Though there was a cafe across the street from the hotel, the owners were on vacation while we were on vacation :-) We also frequented the grocery store and pharmacy at Fischerinsel and Gertraudenstrasse and kept some of the perishables in our mini bar fridge.

The location compared with the price we paid - it doesn't get any better! Subway right in front of the hotel, Alexander Platz ... & Gendarmen Markt are only 10 minutes walk away. Small Cafe and Deli down the road as well as cute restaurants!

It was a good stay for me. The staff was very warm and welcoming not to mention helpful. Just make sure to ask them for the ... regular free internet as oppose to paying for the Business Internet Access which is quite expensive per day. Was near a lot of subway trains.

Fabulous Hotel!
Barbara Jul 11, 2009
The Hotel is located acroos the street from the U-Bahn and a short walk from "Museum Island." Front desk staff eager to help ... in making restaurant reservations, giving directions, etc. I had a problem with my room on the first night and was upgraded to a room across the hall overlooking the TV Tower. When booking ask for a room overlooking the City. Breakfast was incredible buffet but pricey at 18 Euros/person (around the corner 2 bistros offering 5 Euro breakfast). For 22 Euros, book a breakfast before 11 am weekdays 12pm weekends at Mandala Suites Lounge which overlooks the Potsdamer Platz and offers free use of computer to check emails. No internet access provided in rooms else must pay for same in lobby.Mini-bar fully stocked and reasonable prices.Supermarkets 2 blocks away. Would definitely stay here again as would my 21 year old son whose room was equally comfortable but had street view.

Great budget hotel in central Berlin
lise anne Jul 30, 2007
Very satisfied with Art'otel Berlin Mitte. It was a very convenient location walking distance to Museum Island, Unter den ... Linden, Alexanderplatz... The hotel was very clean and the staff was helpful. The room was basic- but it had everything that you would want and more. The bathroom was lovely. There was a minibar. The only downsides were: the lack of pillows (only one thin pillow in a single room); the windows did not open (it had airconditioning but I wanted fresh air); the wireless internet was obscenely expensive (8 Euros for 1 hour). I would definitely stay there again.

Great lattes and pastries across the street. the breakfast at the hotel was great but too much for those who don't eat much in the morning and it cost 15 Euros.

Great Location & Comfort
CARLOS May 30, 2007
The art'otel berlin-mitte hotel, by park plaza, BERLIN, Germany was very comfortable, providing good service with a very ... contemporary decor. The location was outstanding as it is less than a block from the metro and in the immediate vicinity of the city's musuem district. We enjoyed our stay and will frequent the hotel on our next visit to Berlin.

Nearby are the musuems, water tours, bus tours, shopping and dining.
