Winters Hotel Berlin Mitte Am Gendarmenmarkt

Big room, clean, comfortable. Staff was ok, not very helpful. Also we were supposed to have free breakfast with our reservation, but they did not honor it.

Although the location of this hotel was great, I was very disappointed to find out that the cleaning staff engages in criminal activity. I am 150% certain that the cleaning staff stole one of the Christmas gifts I had purchased and stored in my room. Despite keeping a "Do not disturb" sign on the door to protect my purchases, the sign was ignored. The cleaning crew entered my room and stole a valuable gift item. I have reported the incident to the management and they refuse to take action. What a disappointment!!!!!

positive points: great location, very central; mordern and clean room with nice bathroom/shower negative points: very small room, it's ok if you have small suitcases; no wi-fi in room (free wifi in lobby). Notes: you can rent bike just outside the hotel or take tour bus 5-10 min walk away.

Our stay at the hotel was excellent both in quality and value for money. The hotel was right in the middle of the city within walking distance of all sights and amenities. The room was very clean and tidy, house keeping was superb and without exception all staff were polite, courteous and helpful. Great venue for short breaks.

This only just rounds up to a 4, and that's because of the great location. It's around the corner from the Stadmitte subway stop (U2/U6). Walking distance from Unter den Linden, Checkpoint Charlie, and Gendarmenmarkt. No frills modern décor, with a bar area near the check-in desk. No free wifi in the rooms, but there is a wired connection. Mounted TV, clean beds, moderate-sized room. Not the best view, nor the most interesting nightlife around, but the area is quiet and safe. Breakfast is €12. Downside: no shampoo/conditioner! Only body wash in a dispenser. Also, there is only one elevator.

Great Location! Walking distance to everything to include Checkpoint Charlie, Charlotten Tor, Friedrichstrasse which is the froo-froo shopping area, museums and especially a great Irish Pub called Good Times. If you're there for touring the city the room is perfect, clean, bed, shower, toilet. LoL. Bring your own toiletries though, they only have one of those "all purpose" soap dispensers in the shower. You are paying for the location, but at their price and depending at what time of the year you are going, it's a great deal! Again, don't be surprised, it's a "what you need" hotel, not what you want so think "bare minimal". Great place.

My husband and I were four days in Berlin, mostly as tourists. The locatoin of this hotel is excellent. Extremely centrally located, we walked to most of the sights and museums. A wonderful selection of restaurants in the area. The hotel itself was rather sparce in the rooms. It would have been nice to have a bar of soap or shampoo for the price.

Wir haben ein ziemlich kleines Zimmer gehabt, hat aber nicht wirklich gestört. Zimmer sind modern eingerichtet und sehr schön. Sehr gute Lage, vom Hotel aus alles erreichbar, auch zu Fuß.

Die zentrale Lage dieses Hotel bietet den idealen Ausgangspunkt um die Stadt zu erkunden. Ob zu Fuss, mit der U-Bahn, oder anderen öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel, alles ist in unmittelbarer Nähe. Zudem findet man ein paar gute Restaurants rund um den Gendarmenmarkt. Das Hotelpersonal ist sehr sympathisch, zuvor- kommend und kinderfreundlich. Reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet (Kinder 1/2 Preis). Wir würden das Winters jedenfalls wieder wählen!
