Breakfast choices around the area are far less expensive than the hotel price fixed buffet breakfast. Try Cafe Einstein located on Under den Linden for breakfast.

We stayed there on Oct 18-20, 2009 and it is a very nice hotel. Everything was perfect but here were some negatives: room ... smelled very nice but the hallways smelled like they needed to be cleaned. One day we returned to our room and someone had been smoking in the room...non-smoking hotel?...maybe a maid who can't kick the habit, Food, drinks & hotel taxi are out of line as there are so many other choices in 1-2 blocks. All of that being said, we would stay there again!

Dressler is around the block and part of the hotel building. Excellent German food & close to Newton's which has the best mixed drinks in Berlin.

Great location, good value
Well-travelled sophisticate Oct 12, 2009
Typical American chain hotel, but excellent location. Room was small but functional, overall good value. Only significant ... complaint was strong odor of mildew/mold in corridors of 5th floor. Staff did nothing to address, nor apologize. Breakfast wildly overpriced as was internet connection (20Euros/day), but many alternatives within 1-5 minute walk.

Have breakfasts at Einsteins with internet access or Cafe Brenner at unter den Linden

Can't beat the location, and the hotel is first class all the way. The pool is beautiful, and the spa staff extremely helpful. ...

The shopping in the neighborhood is extremely upscale. For some people this is an attraction, but it was actually too high-end for us. The hotel rates were discounted, and for this hotel were a very good deal, which is why we chose it, but breakfast wasn't included, and the neighborhood is quite an expensive one.

This hotel is ideally located; in the heart of the city. Perfect base for our three day stay, not that we spent much time in ... our room; there is too much to see! If this is your first time, take a bike tour; great way to see all the sites, and get some exercise in to boot! If you have never been to a concentration camp, I would recommend the Sachsenhausen Camp tour. Our guide was [...],from Insider Tours; his enthusiasm and passion for his subject makes this an unforgettable experience! Finally, take the trip to Potsdam. You don't need a tour; just take the train and get a bike. The place is unbelievably beautiful.

First class hotel at a super package price. Beautiful interior, fabulous location, great place for a beer outside, six euro ... cab ride or a cheap u-bahn from the train station. Corner of Unter den Linden and Friedrichstrasse...so fashionable, walk to museum isle, Spree, hang out under the Lindens, short walk to the Brandenburgh...amazing to be in the former East Berlin, which is the cultural center of old Berlin. Great staff, clean, elegant hotel. Wonderful staircase and grand piano. A/c worked. Very quiet and safe. Everyone spoke English! I would stay there again and again.

Take a three hour river tour and a two hour open air bus tour if this is your first trip to Berlin. Go to the Reichstag first thing in the morning to beat the crowds. Free wifi in Starbucks.

not charming but good, solid choice in berlin, right on friedrichstrasse, rooms are big by european standards, I am happy ... because I got a great rate walking distance to the Brandenburg gate, Museum Island, Opera House, Gendarmenmarket, Checkpoint Charlie, and 1/2 block from the closes subway station. lots of places to eat arround the hotel, but not much nightlife nearby. I would definetrly come back to this hotel in the future.

This hotel has an ideal location within walking distance of the major east side sites and seconds from the U Bahn stop that ... gives access to the entire city. There's a great Cafe Einstein a few doors away with wonderful breakfasts and free wireless. I'd stay here again any time.
