Great hotel.
We were only in Berlin for 2 days but this hotel was perfect for our stay. It is situated between all the main tourist attractions in old East and West Berlin. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We needed the name of a good place to eat and they came up with several suggestions and picked one for us that was convenient to the hotel so we didn't have to travel far. The room was very nice and relaxing. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone considering staying in Berlin.

Sightseeing tip:
Long walk from hotel
West of Check point charlie and south of Potsdamer Platz is one of the longest sections of the Berlin Wall still standing. I would recommend walking the extra distance to see it because it gives you a true sense of what life must have been like during the cold war. There is also an outdoor museum depicting life during the period below the wall.

Great Location
This is an EXCELLENT Location. Walking distance to many of the sights in Berlin. There are also several good eating locations within close proximity and a free internet cafe as well (Einstein's). The subway is less than a half block from the front of the hotel. The pool is circular and bigger than most hotel pools, so if it isn't crowded you can swim short laps.

Spent 7 days at the hotel, sightseeing Berlin. Hotel & room very nice. Breakfast offering varied & tasty. Breakfast buffet too highly priced; a la carte a better value. Options for dinner at the hotel are very wanting: menu and preparation very unsatisfactory. Location awful. Ambiance awful. Far too few waiters/bartenders, etc to service sidewalk lounge, inside lounge and the tiny inside dining area. Only a few of the bartenders know how to properly garnish and present a cocktail. Because the dining & cocktail is understaffed, on-duty staffers definitely seem harried.

Pleasant environment, snacks & cocktails in Food Court of nearby Galerie Lafayette. Pleasant & satisfying evening dining in the side streets off Ku'Dam, and in the little streets around Nickolai Church. Avoid evening meals at Westin Hotel Grand.

Great Hotel, Made our stay
I was there for three nights as a vacation with the family,we wanted to know everything about Berlin, the concierge staff made that happen. (They managed to find us sold out tickets to the blue man group which is thankful). The hotel was at a great location, everything is accessible from there. They also gave us free car parking! Rooms where clean, large and loved the bathroom. Staff where friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended to whomever wants to visit again.

air conditioned - convenient location
Used hotel as base during vacation in Berlin. U-Bahn (U6 Franzosische Str.) directly in front of hotel makes access to all city points easy. Beautiful room, bath, lobby, pool and fitness center all air-conditioned. Location adjacent to Unter de Linden, DB Friedrichstr train station, Brandenburg Gate, dining, etc. all are walking distance.

Great stay
Great location in Berlin, right next to a U Bahn stop. Taxis were easy to come by. Walking distance to Brandenburg Gate. GREAT air conditioning, very clean room & bathroom, and I am VERY PICKY. Restful sleep and curteous staff. Bar and restaurant were nice, we ate once at the restaurant and had drinks twice at the bar.
