Perfect Location - Wonderful facility!
We often stay at this hotel chain - they do vary greatly. Our experience at this hotel was fantastic - the room was great and for us the location, perfect. The breakfast buffet although pricey when booked at the hotel is over the top great. And if you can book it as a B&B price, reasonable. We went to Berlin mainly to see the museums. As well as being located near two Underground lines - U2 and U6 it was only a 6.5 Euro cab ride to the Museum Island and also the other museums. Wireless internet is pricey, but free in the lobby. But we walked 3 blocks to cafes where it was free. The next time we go to Berlin, we will stay here.

A very good family residencs
Hotel is in nice location near shoping centers, malls, historical places and most importantly near good restaurants. Hotel staff are cordial and internet facility is free on their computer.

very near, say 5 minutes from U-Bahn metro rail stations linking to various parts of Berlin; so also buses and tram. In fact the hotel is situated very much in heart of the city!

Perfect location, lovely people
Perfect location right at Checkpoint Charlie. Very obliging and friendly staff. Our first trip to Berlin and would stay there again in a minute. For a relatively small hotel, they had an amazing breakfast buffet with very good coffee. Great way to start the day.

For the jet-lagged, as we were they recommended a bistro, L'Entrecote, only a block away, for dinner the first night. It was a spot-on suggestion

Large Rooms!
Easy walk to subway station, Checkpoint Charlie, and many, many restaurants and cafes. The breakfast here was on par with nicer hotels. The staff were incredibly helpful and patient. The street outside the hotel became a little noisy later in the evening, but the hotel itself was very quiet.

The city circle tour bus (hop on/hop off)offered a relaxing self paced tour of some of the more important areas of the city. The nearest stop was just a five minute walk from the hotel.

Intimate hotel in great location
I've stayed at many hotels in Berlin and prefer midsize hotels that still offer a good breakfast and a pleasent place to have a drink. This Mercure offers a pleasent open air bar within the walls of the hotel to enjoy a quite drink. It is a short walk from subway and bus service in easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants of Friedrichstrasse. The staff offered excellent service and speak English. My only complaint is commom to most hotels in Germany that will not allow guests coming in on the early flights from the USA to get in their rooms before 3:00pm. This is even the case when it is clear that rooms are available.

The bus and subway system in Berlin is outstanding. It is simple to buy a multiple day pass at Tegel Airport--look for the signs for the bus--for the price of one taxi ride from the airport to a hotel.

Friendly staff, clean room
The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and very helpful. Room was large and there was adequate hanging space for clothing. Breakfast buffet was good - formal restuarant for evening but they did have room service and light meal service in the bar area in the evening. Room was good size and I liked that the bathroom was seperate from the vanity/shower area. Hotel was conveniently located to public transportation.

Great Place
This was a great hotel. It has a good location and is nearby many of the sites of Berlin. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and helpful and the rooms are a good size for a European hotel.

Great Stay
Great Location, very central. Accommodations were great; but not plush and some things were a little bare bones by 4 star standards. Perfect suite for traveling family. Will be back to see all that we missed.
