Mercure Airport Hotel Berlin Tegel

The hotel shuttle arrived to pick me up within ten minutes of my phoning from the airport. Although check-in time is 3 PM, they gave me a room at 7 AM. Dining room is bright and pleasant, wait staff are prompt and meals were good. Shuttle back to Tegel airport was on time. Only quibble : For a $200 a night hotel, 3 Euros per hour for WiFi seems excessive.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel the evening of May 9 , 2013 checking out early on the morning of May 10 to catch a flight to Miami. When we checked in the first thing out of the hotel's front desk attendant mouth was "You don't get complimentary breakfast in the morning". No hello or welcome, not very professional. When we walked into our room it was very stuffy and the air conditioning had been turned off. We turned on the air conditioning, setting the thermostat very low and the fan started blowing. We went to bed and then after an hour we noticed that the room was not cooling off. We looked at the air conditioner and the thermostat was set at 15 degrees centigrade and the fan was on high. We opened the window to get some cooler air in the room. Around 2 a.m. there were some young people who were making a good deal of noise outside the window that also interfered with sleep. At 5:15 a.m. we complained to the front desk about the air conditioning and they said that the clerk from the night before should have told us that the air conditioning was not working in our room 301. It sounded as if the clerk had deliberately put us in a room where the air conditioner did not work!! We asked if there was complimentary coffee and the clerk told us that the complimentary coffee was from 4 to 5 a.m. and that we had just missed it. What hotel has complimentary coffee only from 4 to 5 a.m.? Ridiculous!!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Only a five minute ride from airport in their free shuttle.

Really convenient to Tegel and the transfers to and from the hotel were unbeatable. The restaurant was pretty good too.

Don't expect to travel to the city from here. it is in the middle of nowhere. Literally it is located in a forest. However, Tegel is a short 5 min ride away so it is good for that. The shower was not working in my room. Room rate was pretty decent about $90. I would NOT stay there again because the location is depressing. I also read that Tegel airport is being moved/shut down in 2012?

The hotel location is great its right next to the airport and the free shuttle is very good.

We chose this hotel because of it's free shuttle service to the Berlin-Tegal airport. The shuttle was a quick call away in the morning, it arrived within 10 minutes, and we were at the airport in 2 minutes once all luggage was loaded. The room was spacious, clean, had air conditioning, bath tub and shower, and a television. The pool was cold and we would have liked to have seen a hot tub, but there was a sauna and small work out room. There isn't much around the hotel besides the airport, so we used our rental car to drive into town for dinner, but there was a bar and restaurant in the lobby if you don't have access to transportation.

Very good location to the airport, with shuttle as we flew in at 5:00PM and had a 10:00AM flight out the next day. Very clean and free internet stations.

Had an overnight layover in Berlin. Booked a room at <$100 US, and were extremely pleased. Clean, comfortable, sound proof room (next to airport) and very helpful staff. We arrived at around 8:30pm, dined at their wonderful restaurant/bar on genuine German fare, then staff arranged for a private taxi with english speaking driver for a Night Tour of Berlin...unforgettable!
