Mark Apart Hotel

For the price this was a good location off the main street, close enough to attractions, and very clean and comfortable. Check out time is noon which was nice. The staff was very helpful with maps and site locations. They speak english as well. Worth the stay for the price.

Friendly and Courteous staff, but be forewarned, this hotel is under renovation and on Nov. 26 and Nov 29, 2010, I was woken by construction work at 7 AM!! The Marc Apart hotel is a bit tired and showing its age. When you approach the hotel the first thing you notice is the lights in two of the letters in the hotels name are out(unless fixed). On checking-in on Wednesday Nov. 25, 2010, my original room, # 416, was so small, it was claustrophobic. Problems with the room included: a) carpeting was very badly stained, b)the lamp in the room was shorting and did not work so no main light in the room, c) broken furniture, d) extensive mold on the ceiling in the corners, a indication water leakage from outside. A bathroom so small you had to straddled the toilet, in order to close the bathroom door to enter the shower! In the middle of the night, I saw 2 roaches in the bathroom. After being up for almost 55 hours, I did not have the energy to complain. On Nov 25, 2010, I presented the front desk with a list of 16 plus problems with the room. The front desk staff was very accommodating in switching my room, a nicer and larger room(#207). If you do not have a breakfast plan included in your trip, the Marc Apart, offers a breakfast buffet for about $17.50 US dollars if you choose to eat at the Marc Apart breakfast buffet. There are no breakfast places near the hotel, but 2 supermarkets around the block from the Marc Apart. As a previous guess to the Marc Berlin, I felt that the Marc Apart, would be slightly below the Marc Berlin, not such a "tired" hotel, in need of TLC!. I was totally disappointed in the Marc Apart. It is sad that its owners allowed it to become so shabby and rundown before renovating it. I would be reluctant to stay in another March Hotel with such un-even standards. Is it too much to ask for a decent hotel room.

arrived in Berlin in the midst of the worst heat wave. No air conditioning anywhere, but to our surprise the staff gave us the newly renovated rooms that do have air. they were great. Small single rooms but very modern and clean. Location is far from most sights but close to the U bahn so you can get anywhere. Great restaurants on side streets near the hotel.

This hotel was very basic. If all you need is a bed and bath at a good price and location this is your place to stay. There is no air conditioning and even with the windows wide open the rooms were stuffy and warm for sleeping. Hotel is dated but on a good note it was clean and the staff helpful and friendly. WIFI in room cost was reasonable at three Euros and hour. Hotel is a 3 minute walk to bus or subway and major shopping street, a 5 minute ride to major West Berlin sites and 10 minute ride to East Berlin sites. Take the walking tour of Berlin with a guide, well worth the 10 Euros.

Limited facilities avaiulable for a primium price. Whilst the location was very convienient, I would not stay here again, or receomend it to others as the facilities were non existant for an'appartment' hotel.

Nice hotel, huge rooms, new furniture, clean, reasonable price.

Accommodation in Berlin is expensive, and it is hard to find reasonably priced central options, especially when travelling as a single. The Mark Apart Hotel was overpriced as a hotel, but probably OK value for Berlin. Facilities were pretty average - it had the basics, nothing more. Breakfasts were great - they were available until noon and the food was good. If I had a particular gripe it was that hammering, drilling and other assorted noises from work being done to the building woke me each morning at 7am. There was no reason given for this, apology, or even mention made of it. I would have thought that 9am was a better start time, and / or that room costs should have been considerably reduced to compensate for this inconvenience. But an OK, not brilliant, option. A rather typical anonymous hotel, nothing really to complain about, but nothing to get excited about either.

Ruime kamer met balkon, goede bedden.

Modernes, gut geführtes Hotel mit supernettem Personal. Restaurant gibt es nicht, dafür aber viel Auswahl ein paar Schritte vom Hotel entfernt. Jederzeit gerne wieder.
