Maritim Hotel Berlin

I stayed at this hotel because it was the location of the conference I was attending. This hotel is located about 10-15 minutes walk away from any restaurants or shops. Although the location is quiet, the minimal customer service and average quality room does not warrant a 4-star rating. My room was a non-smoking room, but at night the bathroom smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The reception staff informed me that the air circulation is turned off at night so if the room above or below mine is a smoking room, then the smell in the bathroom was normal. The carpet in the room was worn, and the TV was a 17-inch CRT. The bed and bedding were comfortable and clean, and the room had central and quiet air conditioning. Housekeeping services were adequate though I had to ask for more soap and shampoo from the front desk because the housekeeping staff did not replace those items. Also the hotel does not have conditioner available for the guests. My room had an electric tea kettle and some tea/coffee. Apparently this is not standard issue for the room, and the staff informed me that they would not be providing more complimentary tea bags. The refridgerator in the room is stuffed with overpriced drinks so there was no room for anything else. There is no wifi internet available in this hotel, and wired connections are expensive in the room so I did not purchase it. Upon check out, the hotel staff refused to issue a receipt because I had booked through this travel website. I finally got a printed receipt from a grumpy employee after explaining I was traveling on business and needed a receipt for reimbursement. All in all, I will not be returning to this hotel in the future, and I will probably not consider this chain of hotels for any future travel.

Quite nice overall. If you want to be close to the Berlin Philharmonic, this is the place. Surprisingly quiet that close to Potsdammer Platz.

Hotel was well situated for our needs, for ex. Berliner Philharmonia was 5 minutes walking distance away. Also bus number 200 bustop near hotel made it easy to reach different parts of Berlin. Hotel was very clean and staff friendly and efficient. But why such a high standard hotel has a prehistoric TV set and programmes mainly in german language. Only CNN was free in English language. Also there was no free Internet connection.

The stay at the Hotel Maritim in Berlin was wonderful. It is located a short 3 minute walk from the Tiergarten and has a taxi stand less than a block away so the concierge can have a taxi for you in even less time. The staff at the front desk were very nice and informative. The room was spacious and spotless. I can't comment on the pool or restaurant though as I didn't try them.

We were in Berlin visiting friends and visiting museums we hadn't been to in a long time. This hotel has the perfect location for all of that. It is very close to several important museums, it's a few minutes away from the lively Potsdamer Platz, and there is convenient bus service to all of the other cultural venues. It is a very nice hotel with helpful and friendly staff. The restaurants are a bit pricey, breakfast as well, and the parking costs are very high, even for this center city location

Took breakfast at the hotel, staff were very helpful and food was top notch. The room was quite well decorated and very roomy for just one person. The Location though was the best - five minutes away from Potsdamer Platz meant that I was in the middle of the action. I enjoyed the ease at which the hotel could provide information, help and tickets for tours and places to eat. I will certainly stay there every time I return to Berlin

Although a bit away from the Unter den Linden it offers very good price-quality. I would stay there again.

The Maritim is fantasticly designed with beautiful chandeliers, comfy bedrooms and a nice pool and sauna to relax in in the evenings after a day of sight-seeing. The hotel is just a short 10min walk from Potsdamer platz where the fantastically prompt and efficient (S-Bahn and U-bahn) stations are located. The buffet breakfast is like no other......amaaaazing! Every taste is catered for!!! We were pleasantly surprised to wake up to find a chocolate Lindt bunny outside our bedroom door on Easter Sunday morning.

Sehr aufmerksames und freundliches Personal, schöne und bequeme Zimmer mit allem Komfort, tolles Frühstücksbuffet, gute Lage des Hotels
