Welcome to the Hotel Altberlin The turn-of-the-century style hotel Altberlin is located directly on the Potsdamer Platz in Berlin Mitte, right in the centre of the capital. Even after extensive renovations it has been able to restore its nostalgic charm. Its rooms, furnished in the Wilhelminian style, are unique in Berlin, wedding all modern comforts with the cosiness of the historic Berlin ambient. It begins as soon as you arrive, as they welcome you in their 'parlour', which leads directly to 'Rike's Gasthaus' (Rike's Restaurant). Coffee, selected beers and historic Berlin specialities - serve them all to you in their typical Berlin atmosphere. In close proximity of the hotel you will find the 'Wintergarten' Variet, the Philharmonic orchestra, the cultural centre, the national gallery, the 'Potsdamer Platz' and the Sony Centre with all its interesting architectural redesigns. Restaurant Rikes Gasthaus
There is room for 60 guests at Rikes Gasthaus, in summer extended by our original Berlin courtyard, which houses an old fountain that was rediscovered during renovation work. Our traditional kitchen offers you a selection of cuisine from historic Berlin, as well as from the surrounding region. Many dishes have, over time, been forgotten - unrightfully, in our option - which is why we have brought them back to table. The original recepts are taken inherited cookbooks left to Rike by her grandmother. One particular culinary house specialty is our 'Coachman's Goulash'. The dish was created at the time when brewers' draymen still carted the wooden barrels on horse-drawn drays to Berlin's taverns. Braised in Berliner beer, the meat becomes tender and aromatic. Try it sometime when you come to visit our restaurant. We naturally offer beer from the traditional Schultheiss Brewery.

joulutorit

Huone oli saavuttaessa kylma,mutta patterissa oli säätö,jolloin sain lämpöä lisättyä.Huone oli pieni ja vanhat vuodevaatteet.Hotelli hieman tunkkaisen oloinen.Henkilökunta ystävällinen Aamiainen ok.

Ideales Hotel für einen kurzen Stadturlaub

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis absolut überdruchschnittlich; Personal sehr freundlich, sehr gutes Frühstücksbuffet, Einrichtung mit Liebe zum Detail. Habe mich dort auch als alleinreisende Frau während meines Stadturlaubes sehr wohl gefühlt.

Super Aufenthalt

Wir empfehlen dieses Hotel mit gutem Gewissen weiter und werden bei unserem nächsten Besuch sicher wieder in diesem charmanten Hotel übernachten. Die ausreichend grossen Zimmer sind romantisch und gemütlich eingerichtet. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist einfach nur super.
