Europe around the Hoildays
This was the first time that we stayed in the East Side of Berlin and we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is brand new but did not seem to have any operational quirks that we had to deal with. The included breakfast was great - a real spread, not just a coffee cup and a danish. The one drawback, the hotel is built on a brand new street so it is still under construction. Walk to the UBahn isn't too bad (1 block for a station where you will have to transfer and about 3 blocks for a better line).

Extraordinary and surprising Berlin
Our family vacation took us to really great places, Berlin was fantastic. The hotel is very well located to many nearby attractions and at an easy walking distance to downtown area. As an advantage it is at a very short distance from a subway station for those more far away spots. The hotel's restaurant offers great food, very good breakfast, don't miss the croissants, they are the best. A concierge service or similar would sure improve the overall scoring of the hotel. It was a good choice for us.

Berlin summer
The hotel is well situated for a short walk to many of the great museums in Berlin. The U-bahn station is just around the corner allowing easy to transit to other points of interest.

Europe bum
A 10 minute walk from the sights
I was there to sightsee for two days and this hotel was a decent spot to do that. It is not next to anything but you are a 10 minute walk from Museum Island and 15-20 minutes from the Brandenerg Gate and the Reichstag. The staff in the restaurant was friendly and cabs were readily available. The only drawback was that it wasn't close enough to any of the sights, but that's nitpicking.

There wasn't much nightlife going on nearby this hotel, I had to walk up to a neighborhood just northeast of Museum Island to find anywhere that was happening, even on a Saturday night.

recht gut, aber auch ein paar Schwachpunkte
das Hotel liegt ca. 2 Minuten von der U-Bahn-Station Spittelmarkt entfernt, die Bus-Station auf der Oranienstraße ist auch recht nahe, in dieser Richtung liegt auch ein kleines Frühstückscafe (gratis WLan, sowie täglich Buffet um ca. 6,-), welches durchaus empfehlenswert ist, denn das Frühstück (nur kalt) im Courtyard kostet 15,- extra. Mit heißen Würstchen, Speck und Ei stolze 21,-, was sehr überteuert ist. In Berlin gibt es viele Hotels mit fantastischem Frühstücksangebot, dieses gehört nicht unbedingt dazu. Kostenpflichtiges WLan finde ich auch nicht unbedingt zeitgemäß - hier sind die Kosten sogar wirklich unverschämt: 2,- für eine Stunde oder rund 10,- für 24 Stunden (müssen in einem Stück konsumiert werden). Der Fitnessraum ist ebenfalls nicht überwältigend (zwei der fünf Geräte waren ausser Betrieb) aber halbwegs modern und gepflegt. Die schwerste Hantel wiegt gerade mal 5 kg - da hat man sich nicht viel dabei gedacht. Ansonsten handelt es sich um ein modernes und entsprechend gut aber identitätlos eingerichtetes Haus mit sehr gutem Service.

für uns 4 Personen: sehr gute Lage
wirklich schönes großes Zimmer, Sauberkeit ist OK; ziemlich ruhige Lage, mit den vorhandenen modernen Fenstern optimal; hat unseren Erwartungen voll entsprochen; sehr gut geschultes und vor allem auch sehr freundliches Personal; Frühstücksbuffett - sehr in Ordnung; alles in allem: OK - entspricht den 4* sollte ich Berlin nochmal besuchen, komme ich sicher wieder in dieses Hotel; Wolfgang Deyer, Niederösterreich
