Best Western Grand City Hotel Berlin Mitte

The hotel floor layout was extremely strange, in that it was maze-like! We had trouble finding our hotel, and as there were no bellboys, it took us several times of going back to point A to find it. The staff were helpful, but lacked the warmth that we have experienced in other hotels. In checking out this hotel online, we thought the breakfast buffet was included in the price, but learned after arrival that it was not. This was a big disappointment to us, especially after learning that their buffet breakfast was 22 Euros!! I would definitely look for another hotel if we return to Berlin.

Great hotel, quiet rooms, easy connection to public transport, nice bar, typical Berlin neighborhood

I arrived exhausted from the airport to the Berlin Best Western hotel. The taxi driver had a difficult time find the hotel on the dark and almost empty street. To approach the main door, I had to struggle up stairs and ramps. The front desk attendent was cordial and helpful. As I opened the door to my (100 U.S.Dollars) room I was pleasantly surprised by the visual treat of the interior design. The tiny pin spot lights highlighted the comforters, granate top counters, etc. The pure white sheets looked inviting. After I put a bottle of wine into the small refrigerator, hidden hehind a door, I noticed that the frig. was unplugged. After showering in the beautifully fixtured shower, which was difficult to manage, I pulled back the sheets and lay on the fresh sheets...except they didn't feel fresh. Unlike all of the sheets I have slept on all over the world, these sheets were made of rubber, and very uncomfortable to the skin. The hotel was fine. We wished for air conditioning since it was warm in Berlin at the time.

This is a very comfortable, quiet hotel that apparently has been completely refurbished inside. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is quite good. However, its location is off the beaten path, and a train ride is necessary to get to the sights. Virtually nothing is within walking distance. If that is not a problem (it wasn't for us), then this is an excellent choice.

We recommend this hotel although the district where it is located is not so nice.

Rooms were very spacious and comfortable and bathrooms were very claen and well appointed. Location is on the outskirts of berlin centre so walking to the town centre is not really an option. Tram/Underground/Train services are within 5min walk and takes around 5-10mins to get to centre. Bedrooms have twin beds although we had requested a double, when queried I was told the double beds were for 'superior' rooms only. All in all nice hotel with lovely rooms if you don't mind the commute to the city.

Wir buchten das Hotel für 3 Nächte, bereits vor der üblichen Check-In-Zeit konnten wir das Zimmer beziehen und auch ein späteres Auschecken ist kein Problem! Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und gut ausgestattet. Ein höheres Kissen wurde uns sofort nachgereicht, was ich persönlich einen Top-Service nenne, da Hotelkissen nicht selten flach und ausgelegen sind. Das Bad war klein, aber mit allem ausgetattet (Fön, Duschgel, Handtücher) und wurde täglich gereinigt. Das warme Wasser kam auf Anhieb und blieb erhalten (ich habe damit bereits schlechte Erfahrungen machen müssen). Der Schrank und das Bett, sowie die gesamte Zimmereinrichtung waren komfortabel und ausreichend für einen Urlaub. Der Internetanschluss war kostenlos über W-Lan mit einem Zugangscode auf dem Zimmer nutzbar, wenn auch manchmal in den Abendstunden mit schlechtem Empfang. Es gab einen TV mit zusätzlichen Programmen, wie Weckruf und PC-Anschluss. Es waren ausreichend Steckdosen vorhanden, auch im Bad. Das Zimmer ließ sich leicht verdunkeln, das Bett war sehr bequem. Auch die Heizung ließ sich problemlos und schnell regulieren, sodass es immer warm/kühl genug im Zimmer war. Die Lage des Hotels in der Osloer Straße ist sehr gut. Die U-Bahn-Station Osloer Straße und die S-Bahn Bornholmer Straße sind sowohl schnell zu Fuß, als auch mit der Tram bequem zu erreichen und bieten somit einen schnellen und einfachen Anschluss zur Innenstadt und den Bahnhöfen. Es war ruhig im Hotel, sowohl zu Tag-, als auch zu Nachtzeiten. Die Rezeption war rund um die Uhr besetzt, das Personal war allzeit freundlich und hilfsbereit und bot insgesamt einen Top-Service!

Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war top. Sehr angenehmes Hotel, sehr sauber, ruhig. Entfernung zu den Touri-Hotspots wie dem Alex sind noch akzeptabel. Empfehlenswert!

El water estaba separado del lavamanos y eso nos desconcert. Es incmodo de tan moderno!
