Excellent Value.
Brilliant location within easy walking distance of Alexanderplatz but you can also hop on M4 tram which stops outside or get either bus 200 or 100 nearby. We had a gloriously comfortable bed in our scrupulously clean and quiet room. Clean towels, room cleaned etc every day. Fantastic self service breakfast selection - juices, cereals, cheese,cold meats, fruits, yogurt,breads, tea,coffee - all regularly replenished by ever vigilant staff. Actually the Alex has the most friendly helpful staff I have encountered in a long time - thanks Thiessy, Klaus & Laura for your help in making our stay so enjoyable and making sure we got to see so much of your wonderful city with ease. Brilliant Vietnamese restaurant next door serving very large portions - Crispy duck well worth trying. Also very good Turkish restaurant/bar on right. Mexican restaurant few minutes walk on left around the corner worth a visit .

Vietnamese Restaurant practically next door to Alex hotel serves the best crispy duck I have ever tasted and the portions are huge. Also turn right out of hotel, cross over road, walk up two blocks, turn left and about 100mtrs up is a very good Indian Restaurant.

Perfect Location for a Perfect Price
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 9 days at the end of March, and thought it was just wonderful! It is a budget boutique hotel, but really offers a very nice experience. It is on a main street equidistant from the center of Prenzlauerberg (the hipster center where there are a million restaurants, bars, and shopping options) and Alexanderplatz (one of the central plazas of Berlin.) You cannot get a better location if you want to be within walking distance of great food, and the main subway lines. The M4 tram is directly in front of the hotel, which makes getting pretty much anywhere a breeze. The staff was beyond helpful with suggestions for places to go, as well as just generally friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was bountiful and delicious - cheeses, meats, yogurt, cereals, sausages, juices, coffee. And to boot, the breakfast is served until noon, so you can sleep in after a long night out, and still have fresh food right down the hallway! The rooms are "European sized" - meaning, they're pretty small. We were comfortable, and felt that the size was very fair for the price. The rooms were kept clean and the hanging shelves allowed for plenty of storage space. No, this is probably not the hotel where you should stay on your honeymoon, but for a week away with friends or a boyfriend where you don't want to spend a ton of money, this should be your number one choice!

Short walk from hotel
Don't eat anywhere near Alexanderplatz! It's touristy junk! Instead, take all of your meals in Prenlauerberg. I'd recommend the following restaurants: The Bird and November. Really, anywhere you walk in P-berg, you'll hit a great restaurant!

Kaikki tarvittava vapaa-ajanreissulle. Puitteiltaan muistutti hieman hostellia, mutta siisteys ja varustelu hotellitasoa.

Klein aber ausreichend
Wir waren zu zweit 7 Tage im Hotel gewohnt und waren mit den Bedingungen zufrieden, obwohl das Badezimmer sehr schmal und das Waschbecken zu klein war. Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Der Raum für das Frühstück ist etwas klein aber das Angebot war umfangreich. WLAN im Haus, kostenloser Internetzugang und eine aktuelle Tageszeitung waren nützliche Zusatzangebote. Die Straßenbahnhaltestelle ist unmittelbar vor dem Hotel - sehr bequem!
