The worst lodging experience in my 48 years. I am a very seasoned traveler, 50 countries, many types of lodging. Hands down the poorest run place ever. I prepaid two months in advance for a private "family room" 5 nights stay only to have that unavailable upon arrival. No compensation offered, had to take a dorm room. Also pre-paid for breakfast included, manager had no record of that and did not honor. Rooms very spartan, reasonably clean but noisy as could be. German students ignored unenforced 10pm quiet time curfew and kept whole building and neighbors up past 1 am every night. Many complaints from all, yet no change in noise. The final straw was when the manager removed our belongings from our room a day early, tossed them in garbage bags and stored thinking we were supposed to check out, then resold our room to other travelers. After much heated discussion we had our room back that final night only to have other travelers key into our room at 12 midnight after the night manager booked other guest in our room! This place is not worth staying, look elsewhere. Regret staying here when nicer places for same cost available. I will say the East Berlin locations are fine and safe, although a bit run down vs West Berlin. Also cannot check in before 4 pm. Another Big minus.
