Situated in the heart of the Punaauia region, Le Méridien Tahiti overlooks white sand beaches, calming blue waves, and commanding mountains. Papeete, the capital of Tahiti, is a cultural hub of the South Pacific, featuring colourful markets, distinguished art and history museums, and lush botanical gardens. The hotel offers four sophisticated meeting rooms, providing the largest conference and convention facilities in French Polynesia, diving expeditions, a sandy-bottomed swimming pool, and a fusion of French and Polynesian cuisines at Le Carré. Just minutes away from the celebrated sites of French Polynesia, Le Méridien Tahiti offers excursions to the Caves of Maraa, the Gauguin Museum, and the Seashell Museum. Glorious waterfalls form the core of expansive canyons at the heart of the island.

Dream ending to Dream Trip

We decided to break up the long flight back from a cruise around NZ and Aus by an overnight in Tahiti. The hotel exceeded our expectations. We splurged a bit and were well rewarded. Our daughter and granddaughter loved it. The pool is beyond description. It had a white sand bottom and walk-in on two sides. Snorkling and kayaking were great and included in the day charge. We may never be back that way again but if we are, we'll certainly stay there again.

With only one day and a half we stayed on the hotel property. There were many water related activities to enjoy and we did!

Beautiful Locations and Great Pool

Mostly stayed around the hotel property and pool. Would have liked to have had a map showing where various locations were. Also would have liked to been able to locate some close-by eating locations other than just the expensive hotel restaurants. This Hotel is located about 20 miles South of FAAA Airport where you land and taxi farw was around 3000 Francs.

Found the equivalent of an AM-PM Mini Mart at a gas station within walking distance and there was a pizza/hamburger eatery a short walk away next door.

Le Meridien bungalow...the best...around

Amazing bungalow (807...last one on the pier) and amazing location. Bottom line: We highly recommend this resort. We experienced no issues with any part of the stay and can now say with confidence that the negative reviews which we'd read before leaving are far off the mark. Ignore them, this resort is first class. Le Meridian is about a 20 minute taxi ride ($40 USD) from the airport and well-kept, quiet, and sufficiently secluded. The pool is fantastic for those days when the current is too strong for snorkeling; which you should do as much as possible. Prices in Tahiti aren't friendly to the USD, however there is a grocery store about a 2 minute walk from the resort entrance. There are also a few restaurants even closer that have decent fare for far less than the on-site offerings. Take the plunge and get a bungalow--it's worth every penny.

Perfect relaxing holiday

If you truly want and need a relaxing holiday. This is the place. If your taking a holiday and want to run hard, then it is not the place to be. I talked to a few people that went on some of the snorkeling excursions and they all said that nothing could match the reefs at the Le Meridean
