We stayed at Sofitel for our honeymoon, and it was simply gorgeous. The hotel is located on the fairly isolated east side, so there aren't any restaurants (besides the hotels') that are within walking distance. Fortunately they will all pick you
up when you make a reservation! Rent a bicycle and ride up the back way to Maharepa for shopping and lunches. Also the restaurant buffet dinner was a bit pricey. We tried both the beach view room and the Superior Overwater Bungalow, and I'd say the beach was better. Both were excellent!
Took the wife to the Sofitel Moorea for a third honeymoon. We had our sights set on Bora Bora, but as soon as I saw it was where the Kardashians vacation, I wanted something else. I think Moorea is the Kauai of the Tahitian islands. The over the
water bungalows where prestine, and beaches are about as blue as it gets. Loved every second, but pack plenty of liquor and snacks. The hotel has less than dial up internet, and drinks way overpriced. The only place good to eat is off property at the Moorea Beach Cafe. Best food on the island.
This Hotel is located in a beautiful part of the island with so much fish life. It took our breath away. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. The water bungalow was an amazing experience. The internet is really very bad. I don't think
they have a gym there, but we didn't ask.
One thing about the island is there were many mosquitoes flying around biting us. We would get bit from any inland building on the island, but we were safe in the water and in our water bungalow.
My wife and I had a wonderful time there, thanks to the location, the staff and the room.
