DO NOT PURCHASE THIS HOTEL
We stayed at this so called 4-star hotel for a week in early November. Without exaggeration, the worst experience i have ever had in 15-year travel all over Europe. There is a long list of problems and i will go in the order of importance: 1. We got robbed on the first day of stay and they came back to the room in a few days and took more money from the SAFE BOX. We called the police and filed the police report. Spoke with the General Manager. The person is forcibly polite and basically told us that it's our problem. After the second robbery, we saw another couple talking to the manager. Their money was stolen from the safe box as well and the GM was trying to convince them not to call the police and submit a hand-written report to him so that he would "pass it through the proper channels". We found a hand towel in our luggage that clearly indicates that the robbery was performed by staff members as every each of them knows how to re-code the safe box. NOTHING has been done without a week of our stay, so we made it to the corporate office to complain and were told that this hotel is being investigated and it's nothing but a bunch of problems. 2. The conditions would barely suit a 2-star hotel in the US. The power outlet in the bathroom was broken in room 306 (our room) and had open wires in room 712 (our friend's). The bathroom cabinet's doors were totally broken and falling out every time we were trying to open the cabinet. The room is extremely small and didn't have any chest/shelving to put the clothes. A smell of something rottening was persistent. Mold in the bathroom tub. The old TV had only 5-6 channels, no English whatsoever. The clock or alarm didn't work in the TV set, no additional devices, such as digital clock, to verify the time. The room looked the same as it did a century ago. The bedding is the cheapest and very uncomfortable. 3. The staff is inefficient. We ordered a wakeup call, never got one. Thanks God we woke up on our own. They just "apologized" for that. One day we and a group of other people spent 20 minutes on the street at 6 pm because we couldn't get in the hotel. The front desk person was missing and the hotel was locked. Nobody was coming out. We were told that a day before the same thing happened at 1 am. Most of the times we entered the hotel, we would have to call somebody because there was nobody at the front desk to give us the key (yes, they still use those old-fashioned keys that you have to leave at the front desk). There is only one security camera on the ground floor and vertically anybody can enter the hotel. The front desk personnel speak very limited English. We urge everybody NOT to select this hotel. The chain has other locations they might work better. The only positive feature this hotel possesses is it's location - close to everything via train... Nothing else would satisfy the person looking for a 4-star accommodation.

This is a quaint, nice hotel with historic facade and small, clean rooms. Reception spoke English and were helpful. The best part was that the hotel is located very near the RER station so it is possible to take the train from the airport and then walk to the hotel. It is also near a shopping area with bakeries, fruit stalls, small grocery stores and restaurants. The room itself was fair. The shower was a bit dodgy, as the shower head holder kept on falling down so it was difficult to get the water pointing in the right direction.

Nice and inexpensive hotel (website)
Nice and inexpensive hotel (website) - but: 1) Today ANY 4 star hotel should offer free wifi in the rooms. Villa Montparnasse does not ..... 2) The roommaids are impatient - and might be a nuisance if you don't let them into your room before 10 o'clock in the morning.

We had a nice quite room on first
We had a nice quite room on first floor. It's close to the metro, and to the busses to and from Orly. Close to the hotel there is a market where they sell fruit, fish and cheese. Prebook a sightseeing tour on a segway - it's the best experience ever!

Villa Montparnasse is a great
Villa Montparnasse is a great choice for budget travellers. The rooms are cosy, (I've stayed in smaller) and the facilities are basic but for this location and price you can't complain. I recommend this hotel to anyone who are in Paris to see Paris and not there hotel room.

Overall the service and room was adequate and suitable. Internet service could be improved but the hotel staff were more than helpful to put us in a room that had the wireless service all day. This we found very good service to help.

Easy access to the great Paris
Easy access to the great Paris Metro, and a very interesting local area. Great for restaurants, and a local village atmosphere. Richly furnished, but a bit dated. The double rooms are a good size, not like a cupboard as they are in some other hotels. Breakfast is extra and expensive, but there are great value bakeries and cafes 75metres away, so eat outside the hotel. Overrall good value for so close to the action in Paris.
