Comfortable Paris hotel sports Wi-Fi and convenient location

Tonic Hotel Du Louvre should be on the wish list if the itinerary includes stops to the Tuileries Gardens, Champs-Elysees and Musee D'Orsay. The 35-room property tends to the basics, from exposed brick rooms to Wi-Fi access. Travelers also target the hotel for its proximity to the Metro, which serves both airports, Eurodisney and Parc Asterix.

Highlights
  • Comfortable Paris hotel near the Tuileries Gardens and Musee D'Orsay
  • Close to the Chatelet les Halles Metro station
  • Air-conditioned rooms with Wi-Fi access

Location a Plus if that is what you want.

We booked this hotel for a 7 day trip to Paris. We were not disappointed with the location. It is very close to the Louvre, Notre Dame and Metro / RER stations. The staff was friendly and helpful. I wasn't expecting much with the room. Even with this, it was a disappointment. On the plus side the room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. On the down side there was one extra plug in the room - this was in the bathroom. It didn't work unless you left the light on. Then one evening the lighting failed and tripped off the whole floor- this was restored within a few hours. Also the lighting was poor by the closet which was a problem when trying to dress. There was mold in the bathroom ceiling in the shower. The air conditioner didn't work which was repaired the next day. Then when it was running it dripped on the bed which was then repaired the next day. If location is important then this is your hotel. If not, look elsewhere.

Tired hotel in great location

The room was shabby (bed was good at least) and the staff is a bit cold. Had a street side room which was loud. Location was good and price wasn't bad but pictures on website overstate things quite a bit.

Small hotel in a great established neighborhood super close to the louvre and notre dame and many other iconic paris destinations. Staff is great, our room was pretty spacious, which can be a problem in paris, the breakfast was good.

A perfect hotel

Staying in this hotel is easily one of my best hotel experiences. The room was wonderful : clean, functional, original, with a picturesque view of the Parisian roofs, the price was right, the location was INCREDIBLE – right in the middle of the city and close to the metro station. (And not to forget the Tourist Information office right across the street.) Next time I am in Paris, I'll make every effort to book this hotel again. *(The only reason I gave the room comfort 4 out of 5 is because inside my room you need to take your suitcase up the stairs, but once you are up there, you find a wonderful charming room. I suppose not every room has a staircase though.)

The hotel can be easily reached by metro (RER) from the airport Charles de Gaulle, so it is not worth taking taxi. The nearby metro station Les Halles is on the direct line from the airport.

Perfect location - old rooms

Steps from the Louvre & Pont Neuf. The room was stuffy and the bed was not that comfortable. But, the location made up for it. The front desk staff was great - especially Yann.

Great Location

The Tonic Hotel has a good location - close to the metro and all the sites. The hotel is a bit dated, but is charming in its' own way. I was there for business, but had the weekend to site see and this was a good location to walk to all the popular venues. The free wi-fi was a bonus, and the price was right for the room.

Great Room in a Great Location

This was a great location in Paris. We were in walking distance from the Louvre (maybe five minutes), fifteen minutes from Musee de Orsay, and about twenty minutes to Notre Dame. The hotel was down a quiet side street- so even though we were in the middle of it all- we didn't feel like we were always in the thick of it. There was also a nice selection of restaurants and small stores right around the corner. The room was great. Some members of staff were really helpful- but some could not be bothered generally. If I didn't speak French- or have a clear sense of an itinerary- I may pick a more accommodating hotel. But for the independent traveler who wants to stay in a nice hotel at a reasonable rate- this is the place.

Very close to Louvre and Notre

Very close to Louvre and Notre Dame. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Price was good for the area. The room was tiny. Smallest elevator I have ever seen. There is a niteclub a few doors down. Can be noisy late at night. We felt that the place was clean and safe and would stay their again.

Just as advertised

Up the block from the Pont Neuf, down the street from the Louvre, and around the corner from les Halle, St. Eustache church and you've got a week or two sightseeing. 3 or 4 blocke to the Latin Qtr. lots of great restaurants (Cheese monger across the street has great food maybe too much(?). So, a GREAT location. Friendly staff. We had the smallest room on the 3rd floor, it was not bad. Free WI-FI is just the right thing to do. So, It's a Tonic that's good for what ails you.
