Very good location for train travel. It is within walking distance of Gare de Nord & L'Est, Being on vacation and in Paris, you do not need to stay in your room. Get out and enjoy the city. This hotel is meant for having a place to sleep comfortabily. Only down side was the bathroom was small and had some problems with the shower door.

Short stay in Paris

Great for short stays. 5 min. or less walking from Gare de Est, so the rest of the city opens up to you. Only down side is the in-hotel breakfast, very expensive for what is offered. I would expect more for 13 Euros. Room is clean and suited for "no files" travelers. Shower was a little small. The old phone booth had more room. Bed was comfortable. Heater worked well to keep the room warm. Not a room to stay and relax in, after all you are in Paris, get out and experience the city! Don't just hold up in the room.

Chez Papa is a good place to eat and drink. The Oldarki beer is now my most second favorite beer (Guinness is still #1 to me). It beat out the German hefeweizen in my book.

Good location, so-so neighborhood, decent facility.

My wife and I are budget-conscious travelers in our 30's. This hotel worked well for us overall. Its best virtues are its relatively-reasonable price, and its proximity to Gare du Nord Station. We arrived from London to Gare du Nord via Eurostar. 20 minutes after getting off the train, we had dropped our bags at the hotel and were ready to tour Paris. As for the hotel itself, it's in good enough condition. Every front desk attendant we saw spoke English and were polite and helpful. The breakfast options (free) consist of coffee, juice, yogurt, 2 types of cereal, small slices of ham, croissants and other pastries. Our room was typical for Europe: Very cozy with a tiny private bathroom. The shower was smaller than a phone booth, and might present a challenge for people with disabilities. BBC was the only English-speaking TV channel we got. There was no alarm clock provided in the room. There is free wifi, but the connection was slow and frequently interrupted. The neighborhood was a mixed bag: There are things like Adults-only shops mixed in with a diverse array of nice restaurants. We saw a handful of people who looked homeless, and saw some sketchy-looking guys hanging around the train station late at night. No problems though. There are mini-supermarkets nearby where you can pick up drinks, snacks, beer and wine at relatively reasonable prices. There is an Avis/Budget rent-a-car place nearby, which also had English-speaking attendants. The hotel's proximity to Gare Du Nord paid off for us again at the end of our stay because there are express trains to CDG airport which depart from there. We made it from the front door of the hotel to CDG in about 45 minutes. If all you need is a decent place to sleep and shower, this hotel is fine.

Good visit to Paris

A nice hotel situated centrally in Paris. Chateau Landon underground station is nearby. The nearby railway posed no noise problem. Breakfast was ok. When we returned to the hotel around 4 in the afternoon the rooms weren't done. There were some loose tiles in the bathroom of 116. Great value for the price.

Some rooms are so noisy

The location of hotel is good and near the metro and center of Paris. The rooms that are beside the street are very noisy specially the sound of trains. At the first day we changed our room. The bathroom are very small so if you are fat you will be in trouble. There is no restaurant and also no facilities for making food even for heating a can of tuna fish. The next time I prefer another hotel to fine a better place. Overall not bad because of the cost.

Parisian getaway

For a two star hotel in Europe, this hotel was great and exceeded my expectations. The room was recently renovated, so the bathroom looked like it was pretty much brand new and the beds were very comfortable. The linens were also like brand new. My room was on the 5th floor and there was some noise from the nearby train tracks, but it wasn't too bad. The staff were incredibly nice and always welcomed me back to the hotel and answered all the questions that I had. Overall -- I strongly recommend this hotel as a budget friendly place to stay that is relatively centrally located.

Wonderful for the price.

I kept hearing that I was in a less then spectacular part of town (and this from locals and bartenders) but I thought that this area was wonderful. Not the most scenic, but CENTRAL and easy to get around. The Timhotel is close to the metro and the staff are about as sweet as they come. Very inexpensive hotel and a decent breakfast. I would and WILL stay here again.

This is an extremely basic hotel

This is an extremely basic hotel room. The only reason to stay here is the proximity to Gare Du Nord. The bathrooms are tiny with a very basic shower/shower curtain and non fixed fixtures. The good water pressure and consistent hot water was redeeming. The beds, whilst large are very hard.
