I happened to get sick the night before I arrived. [...], The woman who I spoke with at the hotel, allowed me to check into the room a few hours early and offered to call me a doctor. Everyone at the hotel is great and I would highly recommend staying there especially if you're traveling alone............

Great hotel for first visit to Paris

I was in Paris with my husband to celebrate my birthday. This was my first trip there, my husband's second. Unfortunately, our luggage was delayed upon arrival, but the staff at the hotel helped us out by calling the airline several times. The luggage arrived within 24 hours of us checking in. Anytime we had a question or needed assistance they were more than happy to help us. All of them speak very good English which helps when you arrive in a foreign country. We were given specific instructions on how to get to where we wanted to go, help with dinner reservations, taxi and bus info, etc. I only wish that breakfast was included in the price, you have to pay extra for it. However, I did ask for a few cups of tea which they didn't charge me for. It's kept very clean, and the bath products are L'Occitane. We didn't use it, but they have a laptop that you can take up to your room. It's a small hotel so there aren't many amenities, but they do have nice touches like that...and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff really made up for anything that was lacking.

When we went to the Eiffel Tower, we bought tickets to go to the very top which are more expensive (13+ Euros), however the view from the top really isn't that much better than from the 2nd level, and those tickets are around 9 Euros. Not a huge savings but...in hindsight we'd have just bought the 2nd level tickets.

Tres chic!

Very helpful English-speaking staff, nice rooms- great decor and free wifi. Wish it were slightly closer to the metro or to the main sites/shopping areas, but it was conveniently located near a regional train station in direct line with the airport.

Could not find booking initialy,

Could not find booking initialy, then found it - Called us back when we got to the elevator, changed our room to the place the term 'couldn't swing a cat in it' was coined. At least we had the 'Magic lights' aka MDF with holes drilled in it placed over a light. Stay in the centre near to the nightlife & shops.

Hip Parisan Boutique Hotel

Fantastic stay at The Five Hotel. Hip, quaint, trendy boutique hotel. Very original decor. Excellent staff, very professional, apporachable and very helpful. We walked around the City alot, so the location was alittle further way from the sites than expected but there are plenty of great streets to explore on your way to the main tourist sites of Paris. Lots of yummy restaurants on Montparness too. I would highly recommend stopping at the near by market (literally around the corner) for bottled water, wine or snack foods to keep you your room. The rooms and bathrooms are pretty cozy but very original and fun!

Amazing staff, Modern rooms

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were tiny but very modern with great lighting and a romantic vibe with faux rose petals strewn on the beds. The location was on a quiet side street in the Latin Quarter but close enough for an ambitious walk to the Siene/Notre Dame and the beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg.

Paris getaway

Hotel was not in center of town, but the staff at this hotel was wonderful and very helpful. Nice to come to a quite hotel after a busy day in the city. Two metros very close by so you never have to take a taxi. The rooms were small but comfortable and very clean. Great deal!!!

Learn the metro system. Very easy and fast to get around the city. You save a lot of money instead of taking taxis.

The Five Hotel

The Room was lovely, cozy, comfortable and romantic. Love the fact that the room always smells great. It is on the smaller size, but for me it was just perfect. Location wise it is not close to metro, but its not that far of a walk.

Small Design

The hotel has a lot to like: great location right off of boulevard Port Royal and close to the countless bars of rue Mouffetard; friendly and accommodating staff; stylish and original rooms; comfortable bed. The room size is a major shortcoming even by Parisian standards: luggage have to stay right next to the bed unless you're in for a longer stay and put your belongings in the [small] closet. The shower was really really tiny: At 6' (and fit) I could hardly turn or bend in the shower. It's funny but not very practical. The breakfast room was nice but I wasn't impressed with the viennoiserie (croissant, pain au chocolat) that didn't seem super fresh. The hotel would be a much better value with slightly bigger rooms and a regular shower. It was interesting to stay there for the design of the hotel but I'd feel claustrophobic after one night.
