fantastic trip to Paris in which was made fantastic staying in the beautiful R Kipling hotel.

A beautiful, friendly hotel with helpful staff. Room was comfortable, clean with no noise from outside or in. The breakfast was delicious and again lovely friendly lady greeted us every morning. Freshly squeezed orange juice and delicious breads and cheeses. Fresh fruit salad and much more. The afternoon tea and cakes laid on in reception was very nice, especially for us Brits. Wine tasting in the evening all complementary were all lovely touches. Highly recommend this hotel. The location was fab for Monte marte and the moulin rouge. Metro and buses were a five minute walk. Fantastic...thank you very much Natasha and Emily.

Perfect parisian experience

This was a typical parisian experience from the location point of view. The rooms are relatively small but clean and comfortable. The size of the rooms are not an issue anyway as we were out most of the time anyway. Going back there at night felt very cosy and homy. The satff was particularily nice and helpful which made the experience truly enjoyable.

Great Value..

What you see is what you get..the pictures on the net are up to date and accurate..The hotel is clean, fresh and located 2 blocks from the Moulin Rouge which provides access to the metro, buses and taxi service. The rooms are small with minimal space to store luggage and clothing, the shower water on the floor is as described(easily taken care of with a towel) and the shower is always hot. We had a superior room with a balcony..you need to step up about 15" through the window to access it..which provided a view of the street below and the rooftops of Paris..the room had two large windows at the foot of the bed which when opened allowed you to lay in bed with the Paris night in front of you..very special. The desk staff speaks English, is helpful and pleasant..there is an older woman who is always around(appears to do bookkeeping of some sort) who never spoke to the guests even when she was spoken to..Housekeeping happens late in the day and at times reminders are needed through the front desk to have all supplies refilled, but these requests were always fulfilled and the room was cleaned.(I think a shortage of personnel is the issue)..We did not have the breakfast, but the room itself is charming. Safety in the area is not a concern, and it was noted that the hotel doors were locked at night and access obtained by the 24 hr. staff. We arrived by taxi from the airport without difficulty and our luggage was locked in a closet while we left to spend our first day in Paris. The ordered a taxi for our return and it was available as scheduled..Only negatives were the safe in the room is not bolted down and therefore of little use..when brought to their attention they suggested that the safes were new and "they would get to it"..not helpful and therefore we chose not to use a safe that could easily be carried away..We asked to a wake up call for the morning of our departure and this never happened..this could have been a disaster, but luckily we made the taxi..Another positive is the small room refrigerator which allows you to store a minimal amount of food..there is a wonderful chicken roaster a short walk away on the road which is to the right of the Rouge..you can eat at the table on the sidewalk standing or they will heat and package a full meal(wonderful sides and sausages as well) for you to take back to your room complete with paper goods..there is a fruit stand, bakery, cheese stand and a decent wine store on this street as well. Monoprix is on the corner near the hotel...all of this adds to the value of this hotel..A small, but lovely market is held on Fridays a few blocks from the hotel(Anvers(sp) I believe) where you can buy flowers for your room, fruit/veg/bread and some of the best sliced ham that we have had anywhere. You are at the base of Montmartre which provides wonderful views, the church, cafes, shops and art work..don't forget to check out the "other" windmill..at the famous cafe which is pictured in one of Renoir's paintings..We did find significant price differences when booking a package for this hotel/air..so check around..Feel comfortable that this hotel is a good value.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

The "Little White Train" that is in front of the Moulin Rouge will take you to the top of Montmartre for 6 euro..you can stay there and having saved your ticket can ride back down the hill when you are ready..there is a commentary along the way and it goes by the famous cemetery as well..great value..this area is very steep and walking the hills is very tiring..
