It's the people and area that makes this hotel charming.

Don't expect high-end bells and whistles here. The rooms and bathrooms are tiny and the furniture really crowds up the space here. The bed were sub-par and the elevators were a bit outdated and can only fit three people maximum. However, with that said, the service of the staff was above normal. They were friendly and were willing to go out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Our receptionist diligently helped us find a local brasserie in the area, called to confirm our airport shuttle, and happily gave us various things (wine opener, champagne flutes, silverware) to top our indoor Parisian picnic. When it was time for us to tip her at the end, she humbly refused, adding that it was a pleasure to help us. This was exactly the charm of the people of this city that impressed us. The area, though not anywhere near the major tourist attractions and a good 10 minute walk to the nearest Metro station, is no less charming than the Parisians themselves. They were local brasseries, boulengeries, supermarkets, chocolatiers, and cafes all over, at a safe distance from the huge tourist crowds. If you want to be close to all the action, this place isn't for you. But if you want to explore the outer fringes like a local, then you'll love this area.

Lovely little boutique hotel.

Lovely little boutique hotel. Not too far from Metro about a 10-15 minute walk. Good to be a bit away from centre of Paris and the hustle and bustle.

Quiet and peaceful place

The time I spent in the hotel was for sleeping. It was quiet and calm. You would expect lots of noise street considering its location, but the "quartier" is rather quiet. There is a bus stop right on the corner and the métro is just three-four blocks away. The staff was always very nice. I could check they speak English very well and they can understand some Spanish. French of course is their language. The free internet service is only available in the lobby but it works well in general. The price matches the standards of a three-star hotel. I enjoyed being there.

You can stroll along some avenues to get to the "Arc de Triomph" or "Champs Elysées" or to the Opera enjoying the views of Paris.

Decent Place to Stay

If you need a place to sleep and clean up without being in the heart of the tourist attractions, this place could be for you. It is situated in a nice neighborhood. There were a couple of restaurants and a mini market just a hop, skip and a jump away. The hotel staff was friendly and understand French better than English. Although it may appear a little bit run down on the inside of the hotel, it was quaint and the décor was nice. The best way to compare this hotel is that to a Motel 6.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

You will be charged like 8/9 Euros for breakfast. It consisted of yogurt, cereal, mini croissants and good coffee. If you are looking to save money or wish to have a wider variety to eat in the morning, there is a mini market right around the corner from the hotel where you can purchase fresh fruit, water and other items. I'm not sure if all of the rooms come with a mini fridge but mine did.

some front desk people in Paris...

First I approached the front desk but the lady there was whispering with another employee. Being ready to check in and passport in hand, she looked at me but kept whispering. I felt embarrassed and a I walked a few steps away, thinking she'll finish and call me. But after a few minutes I thought it's too much so I walked to the front desk again. Even then I felt like I interrupted her whispering and that she felt bothered. Then the front desk lady sent me to the 3rd floor, where my room was supposed to be, but when I got there the cleaning personnel was still in the room preparing it. I got back to the front desk and the same lady told me that she cannot provide a different room, I'll have to wait until they finish cleaning, the hotel day starts at 2 PM anyway and it was 1 PM only. The other thing was about the WiFi, the same lady told me they have it for lobby, first and second floor (not mine, the 3rd). When I told her I have trouble connecting she replied that there's nothing she can do, it's probably not working. I had to figure things out on my own to make it work. I have to mention that the people in the other front desk shifts were nice and courteous as they should be.

Fine Budget Stay Hotel

I found the stay here to be very comfortable. The room I stayed in would be considered small by american standards but I found it to be fine for the stay being as that I spend most of my time away from the hotel exploring all of Paris. It was about a 5 minute walk to the metro with plenty of bistros, resturarants to choose in the immediate area. There is a post office not to far to mall off any postcard you want to send off. The staff was very friendly and accomadating. Breakfest can be had for 7 euro. One thing to know is those who are traveling with their laptop and need wifi access I was told that the service didnt work above the first floor but would work fine in the lobby. I was given a first floor room upon asking for one. All in all I would say the stay was fine and would stay here again.

Fantastic Experience!

I stayed in Paris for an entire month while doing research for my PhD dissertation. When I arrived at 11 am after an extremely long flight, I was allowed to check-in early. Each of the employees was extremely friendly and helpful. They made suggestions on places to go to eat, sightsee, etc. and were even willing to answer my questions about the French language--as I'm trying to improve what I already know. Everyone spoke great English, which was helpful when my French skills failed me. There was more hot water available for baths/showers than there is at my own apartment. The rooms were upgraded to flat screen HD tvs during my stay, which was a nice addition. The internet access is free and was very reliable. On a handful of days, the internet would cut out, but only for about five minutes and then everything was fine--and pretty fast too. The neighborhood is quiet, safe and packed with restaurants, grocery stores and pastry shops. I timed the walk from the hotel to the Wagram metro stop. It takes exactly 10 minutes. It's a great walk down safe and clean streets. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a place to stay in Paris. As I told the employees as I was leaving, when I return, whether for more research or just a personal trip, I will certainly be staying here again.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There are several pastry shops in the neighborhood that sell sandwiches, which you can get hot or cold. They're delicious and very affordable. They make a great quick dinner or snack. There's also a Franprix (grocery store) only a block away from the hotel. Great prices and great selection. There was a small refrigerator in my room, so storing drinks and snacks was easy.
