This is a 3-star hotel, considered a tourist-class property, very well-located near Gare de L'Est and Gare du Nord. (0508ADB) This is a traditional, 6-storey building, in a Haussman style, with iron balconies on the front of the 2nd and 5th floors. The Metropol hotel is situated only a few steps away from Gare du Nord overground and metro station, with direct connections by bus and subway to the main city sites, such as the Opera, Montmartre and Notre Dame.

Metropol Rooms

Guest Rooms
The rooms vary in size from small to medium, and are simply decorated. Although this is a busy street, the rooms are quiet, with double-glazed windows. They are equipped with colour cable TV and direct-dial phone. The bathrooms are equipped with bath or shower, hair dryers and are in good condition. Some rooms enjoy a balcony.

Really it was a good stay. The staff were helpful and very friendly and with some extra merci's, bonjour's bonsoir's things would run smoother. The hotel is just 10 min from Gard du Nord and nearest Metro Station. I would go again.

Rated as 3 star, but equipment

Rated as 3 star, but equipment and facilities are that old and tired that it is more of a 2 star hotel. As most typical Parisian hotels, it's also quite noisy, both from other rooms and street. Breakfast is ok (bit more than standard continental), but av. value for money @ 9 Euro, and Internet not free, but charged at 5 Euro/day.

The hotel is in a very noisy location,

The hotel is in a very noisy location, and the room is quite small and basic and unmodernised; felt it was quite expensive but it is in a good location for Gare du Nord

Very small rooms, had to bend over

Very small rooms, had to bend over in shower as tiling curved over shower head lowering the ceiling. Noisy with pidgeons cooing very early in the morning along with very loud church bells.

This hotel had a fairly convenient

This hotel had a fairly convenient location near the Gare Du Nord station. Unfortunately, that is about the only good thing which can be said about it. Think holes in the wall, beds that might have been surplus from a correctional facility, and corridors with little or in some cases no lighting. We spent one night here and it was one night too many.

Great location if arriving on

Great location if arriving on the Eurostar train as just a few mins walk from Gare du Nord and about 10 mins from the Sacre Couer as well. Very clean (if a little dated) and good breakfast - overall very good value for money for a short stay. I'd use it again.

Budget hotels in Paris are small,

Budget hotels in Paris are small, don't have airconditioning and are pretty basic. It was summer and so the room was hot. However, the location near Nord Station is perfect if you are catching the Eurostar train. There are lots of restaurants around and bus stops taking you to most places around paris. The main tourist attractions are easy to get to via the metro. The room was small, very basic facilities, but had a bath which was very welcome, rather than just a shower. No tea and coffee facilities. The staff were friendly and helpul and spoke english.

Larger than usual Paris room -

Larger than usual Paris room - good sized bathroom. The linen is showing signs of age and the pillows have seen much better days but it is clean and well located near Gare Du Nord. Staff are helpful. I wojld stay here again for short stops.
