Mercure Paris Monty Opéra

The original quote was ~$170 but at time of booking (including a 10% discount for using the iPad app) the rate came to ~$135/night, including breakfast. The location isn't exactly next to Opera (the closest metro is Grands Boulevards) however it is a very lively quarter with too many sites nearby to list. The immediate vicinity has several restaurants (notably Jewish and north African fare). The front desk was very helpful in providing directions. For the price and location, I would easily stay here again.

The hotel is quite old, as all the other hotels in the area. 3 star in Paris is the US 1.5-2 star hotel, very small, not the cleanest, but livable. I stopped in Paris post business trip and just needed a decent place to crash for two nights. The bathroom was clean, the carpet could use replacing, and the beds are small. The hotel has a good location, it wasn't hard to travel around via Metro or by foot. There is a Carefour (mini-mart for water, etc nearby). The staff was friendly. There was some confusion over the bill when I was checking out but the manager was able to resolve it. The cost is fairly reasonable, not exactly cheap, but it is Paris. Probably won't stay here again with the wife, but for myself I would.

Small rooms but very clean and helpful staff, very well located hotel. As always, eat breakfast in a local café and not at the hotel unless you don't care about saving money

The hotel was clean and the staff is friendly, they speak english, the size of the room is great for Europe but small for americans. We only had one issue, because they needed our room they changed us from rooms while we were not there, also took our luggage and put it in the new room without considering that we had money in the safe and our passports and visas, not to mentioned they went trough the drawers where i had my underwear and made me waste 1 hour checking if all my luggage was complete. They did not seem to think there was a problem with that but they were never rude, nothing was missing but one cheap bottle of champagne.

L'hotel è certamente in una buona posizione, molto vicino alla metropolitana e ad alcune linee di autobus, anche se molti luoghi da visitare si possono raggiungere tranquillamente a piedi. L'albergo in sè lascia un po' a desiderare perchè si capisce che è molto vecchio (carta da parati e moquette) con l'aggiunta di mobili nuovi. La camera è stata comunque ben pulita tutti i giorni e offre dei comfort utili (ad es. bollitore con the e caffè con tazze).
