GREAT PLACE TO SPEND ONE'S 50TH ANNIVERSARY!

THIS WAS OUR THIRD STAY WITH MURCURE AND WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN EXTREMELY SATISFIED. We have found, however, the breakfast selections were not as good as those offered three years ago.

the staff is very unprofessional. they make it seem like they are doing us a favor for answering our questions. bathroom is so small that a child would have hard time utilizing it.

Moved to another hotel.

We arrived at Mercure Tour Eiffel at 7pm after a flight from Naples, Italy to find out that the hotel was over booked and many of the rooms were being renovated. We were moved to another Mercure hotel that was about 1 mile away. Since my mother and I were only staying in Paris for one evening we booked a room at this hotel because it was very close to the eiffel tower and my mother is disabled. When I explained this to the manager, she could not accommodate us and we were not reimbursed for the difference in room price nor upgraded to a better room. They paid for a taxi to take us to the other Mercure at 9pm and by that time it really was too late to do anything because our flight was at 9am the next day. I would not recommend this hotel. Management and customer service were very unprofessional.

Pricey But Well Worth It

We requested a renovated room with an Eiffel Tower view. When we arrived, they said at that moment we have a room with a tower view but not a renovated one. They did offer one but would have to wait about an hour. No problem for us. We did read reviews that were unfavorable before we arrived and was apprehensive, but we had a very nice and helpful front desk person, Hiro. The room was great! Have been in Paris before and new most rooms are tiny. The shower was roomy with a fancy "rain forest" type shower head. We had a frig with water, orange juice, and colas, which are free. Every morning we wake up with the awesome Eiffel Tower right there to admire...can't beat that for anything. Every night we saw it light up and sparkle. We'll always remember this hotel and room for sure!

Good location, Rude Staff

Steps away from Eiffel Tower, Business hotel, we were told different things by different members of the staff, example - 1 said breakfast was included in our stay, another said it wasn't.... staff was some what rude and unwilling to help with our needs and seemed very unknowledgable about the surrounding area (ie - where the good shops and restaurants were). The walls were also dirty in the room of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel was fine - nothing special but okay for a weekend stay.

Great, modern, convenient hotel

Lobby is spacious, staff were friendly. Room was of average size but more than acceptable. I was surprised the windows on the 8th floor opened wide, I would have been hesitant in opening them with kids in the room. That said, it was good to get some fresh air. The location is superb, it really is 2 minutes to the Eiffel Tower. We had a 2 day pass on the L'Open top tour buses and as there is a stop at the Tower, this was perfect for us. Two blocks down the street is a fabulous bakery where we picked up baguettes and a supermarket for fillings - a great cheap way to have a meal. All in all, great trip.

"A pretty nice Hotel"

I thought the staff and the location of the hotel were FANTASTIC! The rooms were a bit cheesy looking and I didn't like that the bathroom smelled like body odor and the toilet room smelled like urine.

I was very impressed with Paris. That it was easy to get around, the food, the museums, how historical it is. Just a lovely place to visit.

Spring Break in Paris

My daughter and I were part of a group with her 5th grade French Trip from Sarah Smith Elementary School in Atlanta, Georgia. We met the group in Paris who had previously been to Nice. We visited Versailles, Eiffel Tower, Seine River Cruise, Notre Dame, and the Louve Museum. We really enjoyed our meals at the quaint cafes and strolls to the Eiffel Tower in the evenings. What a beautiful city!!!

stay at the pullman next door instead!

When asked to call a taxi, the response given was "all the cabs are busy. walk to the metro". i somehow don't believe that every single taxi in paris was busy on friday night. our floor also had a large group of extremely noisy japanese tourists that woke up at 6:30am every day and liked to hang out in the hallway. staff was indifferent to the noise. the photography is misleading-- the place is near the eiffel tower, but if you want an actual view of it from your room, stay at the pullman hotel right next door.
