Art Deco flair, picturesque gardens and a restaurant fit for foodies
Les Jardins Du Marais hooks guests on two local loves: culture and cafes. Next to Place des Vosges in the Marais district, the property offers stunning eye candy, including a Phillippe Starck-furnished restaurant that extends into the on-site gardens and plum-colored rooms showcasing Art Deco prints. Guests also take advantage of location. Musee Picasso and the Maison de Victor Hugo are just some of the attractions nearby.
Highlights
- Art Deco boutique hotel near Place des Vosges in the Marais district
- Modern French restaurant with patio dining
- Close to Musée Picasso and the Maison de Victor Hugo
Location
The aristocratic Marais district delivers precisely the kind of romance and history craved by Parisian visitors. Les Jardins Du Marais guests benefit from easy access to Place des Vosges, Musée Picasso, the Maison de Victor Hugo, the Carnavalet Museum and the Opéra Bastille.
Rooms
Rooms at Les Jardins Du Marais lean toward Art Deco flair and a passionate palette of plum and blue. Crisp white comforters get an artful touch with purple- and white-patterned blankets that match the bed skirts and drapes, while windows open up to a charming courtyard. Modern conveniences feature flat-screen TVs, mini bars, Wi-Fi, cable TV and videos On Demand.
Dining
Parisians' love of alfresco dining is alive at Les Jardins Du Marais, where the on-site restaurant extends into the property's internal gardens. The ambiance is as picture-perfect as the modern French cuisine. Philippe Starck furnishings, Lucite chairs, mauve velvet benches and the light filtering through the atrium windows will make you say ooh la la.
Menu signatures cater to discerning tastes, from duck foie gras to salmon with violet mustard sauce, quinoa and spaghetti-cut vegetables.

worst hotel ever
I reserved a room at Les Jardins du Marais after searching for weeks for a nice hotel with a fitness center in the Marais district. From the web site and comments, it seemed like a decent place to stay with professional staff. I checked into the hotel on the scheduled date of arrival, at 8:30 in the morning and left my bags while I went out for the day. When I returned to the hotel that night, I was told that the room I had reserved and paid for in full, was no longer available. This was after I had already checked into the hotel. There is no excuse for this. When customers reserve and pay for their rooms that hotel is obligated to honor that booking. I don't care if other guests want to extend their stay--if they have no free rooms, they shouldn't arbitrarily cancel other guests ' bookings in order to give priority to guests who have not reserved rooms already. Clearly reservations, even those paid in advance, are not honored or guaranteed at this hotel.

MONEY STOLEN FROM THE SAFE IN THE ROOM!
On the 18/05/2011, our hotel room was robbed, the adress of the hotel is 74, rue Amelot-75011 Paris, hotel "LES JARDIN DU MARAIS", 4 STARS! When we returned from the town and checked the safe - it was open, the money was gone. Totally 1000 $ and 400 Euros. We called the receptionist and filled out the declaration, but stuff of the hotel refused to call the police and told that the manager, who is responsible for those issues will be in the hotel just on the nex day at 9 a.m. We also asked the stuff to check who entered our room during the day and at what time – but they also refused. We went to the police station and declared statement of claim. The next day we finally found main manager, but he told us that the hotel is not responsible for it, that they can do nothing and that we cannot even prove that we had the money!!!!!! NEVER STAY AT THE HOTEL ""LES JARDIN DU MARAIS"" 74, rue Amelot-75011 Paris

Happy travelers
My first attempt to write a review got lost in the ether, so this will be shorter. We loved everything. The hotel is on a quiet street (except for the night crowd in the front on a weekend and the early morning delivery people on the back street) The noise was minor, though. The hotel was comfortable, clean, friendly, and even elegant. We walked to two different Metro stations, even though my daughter was on crutches. She loved the music and camera shops on the main boulevard which was one street over. There is a convenient grocery store (super market) less than a block away. Our room included a refrigerator, stove, and kitchen supplies.

Excellent location, underground
Excellent location, underground nearby (100 metres), rooms good size with small kitchen facilities. Small quibble: lighting is not great, especially in the bathroom. Second time there and would stay there again.

Good value at the Ebooker price
Excellent choice to explore the Marais. Would not have wanted to pay the rack price - 750 euros per night!Good value at the ebooker rate of £184. Did not have to pay the hotel rate for breakfast - 20 euros, as there is a pleasant restaurant next door which does a very good continental breakfast for 7 euros. Efficient shuttle service to CG airport for 17 euros pp.

Not what I wanted.
The hotel is very nice, but the rooms are small. The location is pretty good; it is very close to a couple metro stops, including a "large hub".I was very disappointed that the restaurant closed so early. (I tried to have dinner a little before 10pm on a tuesday and they said they could only do club sandwiches at that time.)The staff was very professional and very helpful. But, they do "lock" the front door after 11pm. There is always someone at the front desk (which has a great view of the door). But, it is a little disconcerting to have to knock on the door to be let into my hotel.Be careful of the price, because a lot of things have an extra cost. For example, internet costs 10 EU/day. This isn't the highest I've had to pay, but it is annoying that hotels advertise internet access, but not the cost. Also, movies were available, but at 12 EU/movie, I could have purchased them on iTunes and watched them on my laptop. (AND I would have owned the movie.)My biggest disappointment was that the hotel had no gym. (After 3 weeks in France, I was dying for even a stationary bike.) [...] Also, I thought breakfast was included, but it is NOT included in all packages. It was a bit of a shock when they wanted to charge me for breakfast.
