A contemporary hotel for jazz music lovers, foodies and executives
Le Meridien Etoile covers all bases for a well-rounded Parisian stay. With a jazz club, sushi bar and locally sourced restaurant, the 1,025-room property tempts guests to stay on site and sample the nightlife. But plenty of distractions are within walking distance, including the historic Palais des Congres opposite the building and nearby landmarks like the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre. Executive rooms show off technological prowess with LCD screens that double as TVs and interactive portals.
Highlights

Location
Le Meridien Etoile guests do not have to venture far to see most celebrated sights of Paris. Opposite the Palais des Congres, the hotel is a minute away from the Porte Maillot metro station, which travels directly to the city's business center. Sparkling in the distance is the national treasure: the Eiffel Tower.
The Luxor Obelisk in the Place de la Concorde, the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre and Orsay museums round out a full day of sightseeing.
Rooms
Le Meridien Etoile caters to lovers of contemporary design in 1,025 rooms and suites. Classic and deluxe are more understated, driven by subtle colors, luxury linens and a well-edited collection of artwork and photography. The hotel also solicited designer power. Jean-Philippe Nuel styled executive rooms to utilize advanced lighting and technology features to create a sensory experience. A favorite: the sleek LCD screen that doubles as a TV and interactive portal. Standard amenities cover high-speed Internet access, cable TV, 24-hour room service, among many other conveniences.
Dining
Meals come with a heavy side of ambiance at Le Meridien Etoile. Guests choose from patio dining under the sun or stars in the secret garden at Jazz Club Etoile, fresh catches at the Sushi Bar or the exotic and timeless L'Orenoc, whose menu incorporates only local ingredients. L'Orenoc hosts a Sunday Jazzy Brunch complete with live music.
Jazz Club Etoile, a cozy venue for cocktailing and live soul, funk, blues and world music acts, has been a go-to for stars like B.B. King, Cab Calloway and Lionel Hampton.

Nice Christmas Visit
This hotel is located in a great location. The metro is not far from this hotel. The French metro makes it easy to navigate Paris and the outskirts of Paris. I loved the signature fragrance of the hotel...LM01! I bought the last large candle available to take home. As a treat, my son and I had the buffet breakfast at the hotel. Although pricey at 28 euros, there was a great variety. My son and I truly enjoyed it. Everything was fresh...fruit, juices, bread, yogurt, cheese and bottled water.

COOL MODERN HOTEL
I enjoyed my stay in Paris! This hotel was close to the Metro which gave easy access to all major attractions. There were restaurants nearby and a mall across the street. Everything was very convenient. The Concierge desk was extremely helpful with any and all questions, directions, excursion bookings, money exchange, etc. They even printed off my boarding passes when I was about to check out. I would definelty recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Comfort and Joy
we had a great time in Paris and the hotel was great. I didn't give perfect marks because there is always room for improvement. A few things to take note....the gym is down the street. You have to pay to view the tv (who wants or has time to watch the tube when your in Paris), be careful where you sit in the night club...the side closer to the door, you can enjoy the music but are not charged for the show...sitting on the other side of the bar, we paid $45 ea for one drink! Big gulp! We like the location because it was so close to neighborhood non tourist restaurants. The Metro is right there and a convenient way to get around town. Rooms are small but if you're organized you won't be tripping over each other. It's Europe! They don't have enormous rooms like USA.

Long walk from hotel
Take a half day long walk from the hotel, along Champs d'Elysee, pass Arc du Triumph, continue, have there breakfast, continue via place du Concorde till Louvre, cross the river, continue till Cite, visit Notre damme de Paris, then move to Saint Germain de Pres and have a lunch there in one of the many cafes (e.g. Lipp, Cafe des Fleurs, Les Deux Magots, etc)

Etoile is a star just don't buy anything
In summary great hotel but avoid the facilities! Location was perfect, just around the corner from the Av. Des Armee and the Arc du Triomphe is less than 10 minues away on foot. The bus, train and metro stations (and the easily rentable Velib bicycles) are about 100m from the hotel so getting around is easy. The rooms and the environment are very clean and the staff are very friendly. Just don't dream of buying anything at all in the hotel, Internet access (free in many cheaper hotels)and TV (not just on-demand but regular tv)are bundled at 19 Euro per day! Breakfast is 29 Euro while restaurants 100m away sell the same for 1/2 the price. The minibar charged 7 Euro for a bottle of Perrier that cost 1/3 of that from a grocery 2 blocks away.

Sweet Luxury Spot
This hotel was gorgeous. I'm not used to staying in classy fancy accommodations. the only slightly annoying thing was the housekeeping was really intent on cleaning our room so we would often get knocks or phone calls while we were trying to sleep in late. but that may have been our fault for being the only couple in paris that wanted to sleep until noon. the people all spoke many languages and were lovely.

L'entrecote is an awesome restaurant, famous for their neverending steak and frittes, that is just around the corner from Le meridien, a two minute walk.

The jazz club is an international
The jazz club is an international treasure; the decor modern but with just enough quirky touches to be appealing; the rooms are small; the service is sketchy; cool, young, fashionable guests are welcomed, but old hippies with money and a taste for jazz - not so much! Restaurant had at least ten open tables when we arrived from Italy, starving, at 9:00 p.m., but we were kept waiting at the door and then told that they had no tables. Line for check-in and checkout is long.

Breath of Fresh Air
Le Meridien hotel was better than I expected. We arrived at the hotel around 10:00 am and the check-in is at 3:00 pm, so we weren't expecting a room at that time. But because I am a Starwood member they found a room for us right away on the 5th floor. The young lady at the front desk "[...]" was very helpful and accommodating to our needs and questions. The room was very clean and very nice. The room was spacious - we had a desk, a king size bed, a chair, and a small table. Bed, pillows, and linens were comfortable with a good size TV. As travelers, we did not want to see news, which was what was mostly on the English speaking channels - CNN, Bloomberg, British news, etc. The only other English channel was the cartoon network. Mini bar was expensive and computer monitored. Don't touch it - you will be charged. Internet was expensive, as we are accustomed to free internet with our rooms. Bathroom was modern and sleek. We loved the scent of the toiletries. I am a light sleeper and was pleasantly surprised that I couldn't hear the street noise. The hotel itself is in the La Defense business district, about a 15-20 minute walk to the Arc of the Triumph. It is right off of the "Av. de la Grande Armee" which turns into the "Avenue Des Champs Elysees", where the whole street is all shopping/restaurants, etc. It is also an easy metro trip to the center. This hotel is also across from a shopping center with high end designer stores and a great grocery market in the lower level of the shopping center. Overall we were satisfied with our choice and we recommend it.

Across the street there is a "galeria" where you will find a Paul's bakery with great, reasonably priced pastries and a grocery store next door for all your needs.
