Very Convenient and Quality rooms

Stayed here 5 nights with my wife, They gave us a free upgrade to a studio suite when they knew we were there for our anniversary. Although the studio suite is in an apartment building 2 blocks away, it was still very nice. The staff are very nice and helpful. The only real negative is the TV has no cable channels, only local French channels.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

If you bring a car, don't pay them 22 euro per day to park in their lot. You can find street parking in the neighborhood and it's free after 7pm.

Far away from Ideal

Spent 7 nights in Superior Double room. Pros - location - the hotel is just next to Porte D'Orleans metro stop. Strong WiFi reception in the room. Cons - Lobby and our room looked NOTHING liked it is advertised in hotel photos. Room is very tiny and dated. Chipped paint, dirty rugs, claustrophobic bathroom with moldy curtain and lack of counters. There is no air condition in the hotel, so we had to keep our window open at night. The elevator is a joke - it is for one person with a luggage or for two without any luggage. My husband had a backpack and we could barely fit in the elevator with it. There are no English speaking channels on TV. Moldy carpet in the hallway. But the most unpleasant experience was reception desk.... I think the problem was the language - they don't speak English very well and when we asked them questions they did not understand and once the guy just lost it, raise his voice and pointed to the computer where, as we understood, we could find all the info needed without bothering him. This hotel is far far away from being a 3 star hotel.

Terrible room

Noisy room next door to luggage storage and near the kitchen. Disturbed night sleep and hotel not willing to refund. I walked out disgusted.

Great for budget travel

I traveled from February 21-27, 2013. I was by myself and booked a twin superior room, received room 708, which was in fact a queen bed. Room was very comfortable for one person. May be a little tight if you were traveling with a friend, spouse would probably be fine. There were two room sizes smaller than mine. I would say the one under would be fine for just one person (two would probably be too tight) and the smallest room may be a bit tight for just one person. They were doing some construction on my floor, which was unfortunate, but since I was traveling off season totally understandable. To their credit though, any work did not start before 9 AM and was completed by 7 PM. WiFi was easy to set up and ran fine. Bathroom very spacious with a stand up shower and adjustable shower head (no tub). Large sink area, plenty of room to spread out toiletries. They provided shampoo and soap, but that was all. No conditioner and no wash cloths (I had brought a louffa so no problem). Room was kept clean and staff seemed very nice. I did eat breakfast here one morning. It was good, though for the price (12 euro), difficult to get your money's worth. I would suggest just stopping in at the bakery next door if you don't normally eat a big breakfast. The best part of this hotel, certainly the location. The steps to the Port d'Orleans metro was literally right outside the hotel. 20 minute ride to major sights. Certainly off the beaten path, but so easy to get to it all, made it totally worth the price. The only other negative, the hotels does advertise that they have safes in the room, there was at least not a safe in my room. Not sure about the others, but I ended up having to keep more money on me than I wanted. I would make sure you have a lock for your suitcase. All in all, if you are a single traveler or a married/partnered/really close friends, the superior room was a steal. I would opt for something bigger however if you can afford it and traveling with two. I was not in my room much (too busy exploring!), but it was the perfect room for the price and location couldn't be beat. Would definitely recommend.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Traveling in February seems like the best time if you are really interested in seeing a lot of the city. Lines at Notre-Dame and Louvre were non-existent, flights and hotels were very discounted, and people seemed to be a lot nicer and more helpful. Just bring lots of scarves, gloves, and boots and you will be all set!

Stressful and disruptive getaway

Arrived at the hotel, which was as described right outside the metro stop. however, things soon took a turn for the worst. Our booking confirmation, which was confirmed 2 months prior to our vacation was apparently cancelled. We had booked two rooms, one a double and the other a triple. both rooms were booked together at the same time, and confirmed. The double room was apparently cancelled by us, which was evidently not the case, as all five guests arrived at the hotel. They sent us away for a couple of hours, whilst trying to rectify their mistake. solution was not found and the alternative was to split our group, with two of us staying on the other side of paris. They found us a room all together for night of arrival, beyond that two of us were potentially homeless for the duration of our break. The hotel seemed more concerned with shifting the blame onto the booking company, rather than customer service of their two homeless, young female guests. The five bedroom room was no bigger than a triple, and inadequate for five people. there was barely any room, and the floor was dirty and unclean. It was not made clear at reception that breakfast was not included. All that was emphasised was that if we required room service there would be a charge. On checking out the following day there was a 12euro charge per person added to our bill. Considering the quality of breakfast, 12euros seemed ridiculous. the eggs were cold and on short supply, and not very much choice at all. breakfast staff were incredibly rude and were not very welcoming. We were bombarded with phone calls the following day when trying to enjoy Paris. The hotel gave us a time limit of 30 minutes to converse with booking company to transfer a payment for another night stay. Otherwise the hotel were going to give our hotel room to other guests, which would result in all five of us homeless for 4 nights. It was not a vacation, and left us all miserable and highly anxious with regards to where we will sleep. all of which we had pre-planned and booked and payed for 2 months prior to this vacation. The hotel were very unhelpful and unsympathetic to our needs. They seemed to only take notice of us when they needed a payment or charging us for something we had already payed for. The booking company helped rectify the problem by booking us another hotel for the last few nights of our stay. We were right in the centre of Paris, with a hotel over-looking the Arc de triomph. The delay in changing hotels was due to us being in Paris during fashion week. Apparently all hotels were booked and it was impossible to find accomadation. Which leaves us as guest questioning the hotel's motives ? Did they want more money for the booking we made through the booking company 2months prior ? because that is certainly what they achieved, resulting in unhappy, nervous and anxious guests. I will not be booking with this hotel or the booking company again, due to the stress and disruption involved, to what should have been a relaxing, sight seeing experience.
