hotel employees are robbing guests

recently the guests are getting thieved or harrassed by hotel employees. i had all my valuables stolen from inside my room on November 19, 2013. i am certain my room was left locked. i double checked the door handle when i hanged the DO NOT DISTURB. when i returned the DO NOT DISTURB sign was on the desk and my valuables were missing. looks like an inside job. dirty, small hotel that will rob you. stay away.

Horrible hotel with atrocious customer service

Due to plane delays beyond our control, we missed our connecting flight to France and had to cancel our hotel reservation. First they told us that they'd only charge us for one night then refund the rest of our reservation. Now the hotel claims they need the manager to approve a refund, but the manager is on vacation for 2 weeks (so are there absolutely no business decisions made at this place for the next 2 weeks?). I've asked them if there's anyone else who can approve the refund, but now they won't respond to my emails and still haven't given us a refund. All we're trying to get is the refund they already told us they'd give us but now won't approve. Don't expect good customer service from this hotel.

My review of Hotel des Ducs d Anjou

The hotel was a disappointment in most respects; value, amenities, room size, and comfort. My first indication that all was not as expected was the elevator which would only fit two adults with NO luggage. We shuttled upstairs and down the narrow hallway to our incredibly tiny room. The furniture consisted of a narrow writing table at the foot of the bed, leaving barely enough room to squeeze through sideways, and two mineature bed side tables approximately 10 square, all made from pressboard. The bed was not actually a king size bed but two twin size beds side by side with one set of king sized sheets. There was no attempt to smooth over the resulting center seam. And as comfortable as it sounds. The courtyard outside the hotel was a major party gathering place and was thronged with people until past 1:00 a.m. both nights we stayed. We were not at all pleased with this hotel.

Small but romantic

The hotel is conveniently located just steps away from the subway station. Setting was exactly what you picture Paris to be like - in the early 1900's - not much has changed! (Actually very romantic.) The room was very tiny, but clean and freshly painted, new drapes. Recently remodeled in keeping with the setting. Hotel staff were very pleasant and willing to speak English the best they could. Plenty of restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance.

If you're taking the subway, hope you're travelling LIGHT, because you may be dragging luggage up LOTS of steps. There are a few lifts (elevators) around, but signage is confusing, especially if you don't speak French.
